Darrell : Tom, what are innovative businesses doing for telecom solutions? Tom: These days what they're doing are looking after their workers, their employees. More and more people are starting to work from home, and so they have to find a technology to satisfy a lot of their workers' needs for a good balance or quality of life to allow them work from home, reduce their commuting time, which is getting higher and higher in major urban cities, so some people are spending 2-3 hours a day commuting so they can eliminate that if they can. Darrell : Is this what they call telecommuting?
Tom: Telecommuting, yes. Also it's getting more and more expensive to have offices, so a lot of companies are finding that they can outsize their employees to their homes. They can save tens of thousands of dollars a year in real estate costs. Darrell : That's incredible. What are you seeing as the local trends? Tom: It Vancouver people are spending an awful lot on their homes here. It's a very expensive place to live, so they don't have a lot of disposable income, so for them commuting is a challenge.
