Holy Trinity

Diocesan High School A Special Time, Place and Spirit

MISSION STATEMENT It is the mission of Holy Trinity High School to be a living witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a community of faith, hope and love. Â We seek to educate the whole person: mind, heart, soul and body and to motivate all students in the pursuit of truth and academic excellence, preparing them for future educational opportunities and service to the Church and to the world.

WELCOME PRINCIPAL JIM GRILLO "Never before have our students needed the support of a Christ-centered educational family more than right now."

FAITH FORMATION Religious Education Holy Trinity's Roman Catholic faith is at the heart of our Catholic High School community. Founded on a commitment to the 4 Pillars of the Catechism (Creed, Sacraments, Moral Teaching, Prayer) and with a focus on the catechetical efforts of the New Apologetics, our school's four year comprehensive religious education program seeks to develop a student’s capacity to reason through their faith and articulate it as missionary disciples.  Working together with the Campus Ministry team, the efforts in the religion classroom are enhanced with opportunities to deepen their faith through Eucharist, prayer, service, and retreats. Campus Ministry At Holy Trinity, all students have the opportunity to discover and grow in their faith. Campus Ministry helps students develop a relationship with Jesus by fostering a faith-based community here at school. Our Campus Ministers and Chaplains pray and serve with our students (on and off campus), and help them to discuss real questions they have about faith so that students can live out those values authentically.

LiGHTs As seniors, Holy Trinity students have the opportunity to apply for a leadership and retreat team called the LiGHTs. This is an acronym which stands for Living in God Holy Together. The name also invokes the call and responsibility to be the Light of Christ to all they meet. Aside from being leaders and role models of faith in our school community, LiGHTs also serve as the underclassmen retreat facilitators as well as freshmen mentors. Holy Family Parish Partnership Holy Trinity is proud to partner with our neighbors at Holy Family Parish in Hicksville. This partnership has brought us three campus chaplains: Fr. Gerard Gentleman, Fr. Liam McDonald, and Fr. Daniel Opoku-Mensah. The Fordham University Graduate School of Education and the Center for Catholic School Leadership and Faith-Based Education recognized Holy Trinity Diocesan High School for its exemplary Catholic School Religious Education Program. Holy Trinity was also recognized for its unique partnership with Holy Family Parish in our joint mission of strengthening Catholic Education and Dramatic Missionary Growth.

ACADEMICS Holy Trinity respects each student's unique needs as well as their potential for academic excellence. We take a holistic approach to creating students’ schedules by assessing their skills in each subject area. Students can take all Regents, all Honors/AP, or a mixed schedule. Those designations can change year-to-year, allowing students the freedom to challenge themselves in order to strive for higher academic levels throughout high school. Because we believe in the ability of every student, college-level courses are available to any student who displays the potential to succeed. No placement exams are necessary to pursue college coursework.

Advanced Placement Courses Holy Trinity offers 10 Advanced Placement courses in a variety of subject areas. All students enrolled in these courses are required to complete the respective AP exam(s) at the end of the school year.

Dual Enrollment Courses Students can also enroll in a total of 6 college courses through partnerships with St. John's University and Molloy College. Students pay a minimal registration fee and complete the courses at Holy Trinity. After successful completion of the course, students can request a college transcript and the course can be applied as transfer credit at many colleges and universities across the country.

PATRICK CONNORS ('20) Class of 2020 Valedictorian Speech There's a diversity...that, when viewed on paper, almost seems impossible to come together and form a highly functioning community ...but it did. Our diversity did not clash, but instead, blended into the beautiful symbiosis that is the Titan family. This pandemic cannot take away the phenomenal four years that we have been so blessed to have here at Holy Trinity.
