2016 GAME-BY-GAME RECAPS GAME #7 • HOLY CROSS 27, #20 HARVARD 17 October 15, 2016 • Worcester, Mass. Geoff Wade hit on 23 of 35 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns, as Holy Cross knocked off No. 20 Harvard 27-17 at Fitton Field. The Crusader defense held the Crimson to just 245 yards of total offense on the afternoon, while sacking the quarterback six times. Kyle Young led the way with eight total tackles, including two quarterback sacks and two forced fumbles. Ryan Smith finished the game with four tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble, while Brett Laurie added three tackles, two tackles for loss, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. On the offensive side of the ball, Domenic Cozier rushed 16 times for a career-high 112 yards, while Brendan Flaherty finished with eight receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown. Harvard opened the scoring at the 8:15-mark of the first quarter on a 14-yard touchdown run by Noah Reimers. The Crusaders responded on their next possession with a 32-yard scoring strike from Wade to Flaherty on a fourth-down play. Holy Cross pulled in front on a three-yard touchdown pass from Wade to senior wide receiver Jake Wieczorek, then increased its lead to 21-7 when Young forced a fumble on a sack, and Laurie recovered in the end zone. The Crimson responded in the second quarter with a 12-yard touchdown pass from Tom Stewart to Brian Dunlap and a 37-yard Jake McIntyre field goal, and the Crusaders led 21-17 at halftime. The Holy Cross defense then pitched a shutout in the second half, while holding Harvard to just 27 total yards and three first downs after the intermission. Lehigh’s Dom Bragalone carried the ball 17 times for 182 yards and two touchdowns, to lead the Mountain Hawks to a 46-14 victory over Holy Cross at Fitton Field. Following the contest, Bragalone received the Edward N. Anderson Award as the Most Valuable Player of the Crusaders’ Family Weekend game. Jake Wieczorek led Holy Cross with a game-high 230 all-purpose yards, including four receptions for 76 yards and five kickoff returns for 121 yards. Domenic Cozier carried the ball 17 times for 59 yards and his first career touchdown, while Brendan Flaherty caught five passes for 15 yards and rushed five times for 18 yards and a score. Nick McBeath led the Crusader defense with seven tackles, a quarterback sack and a pass breakup. Holy Cross opened the scoring at the 12:25-mark of the first quarter on a fiveyard touchdown run by Flaherty. Lehigh responded with a two-yard scoring run by Bragalone, then pulled in front on a one-yard touchdown run by Micco Brisker. A 34-yard field goal by Ed Mish gave the Mountain Hawks an 18-7 lead at halftime. In the third quarter, Lehigh used a two-yard touchdown pass from Brad Mayes to Gatlin Casey, a 66-yard touchdown run by Bragalone and a five-yard scoring strike from Mayes to Troy Pelletier to increase its lead to 39-7. After the Mountain Hawks added a two-yard touchdown pass from Mayes to Pelletier early in the fourth quarter, the Crusaders concluded the scoring with a nine-yard touchdown run by Cozier.
