HTC APPAREL FW 10/11 WELCOME TO SUNSET MARQUIS Few places in Hollywood are more intrinsically rock and roll than the Sunset Marquis Hotel: a sanctuary for over five decades and a privileged meeting place for international rock stars and the royalty of Hollywood. A peaceful and discreet meeting place; a refuge where regular patrons can relax without having to be on show at all costs. The temple where the Doors recorded some of their famous tracks, where Lenny Bruce was a regular guest and Bette Midler was sometimes heard singing near the pool in exchange for a room. Musical milestones like Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley have stayed here and the tradition still continues today with U2, John Mayer, Eminem, Green Day and more. This is the inspiration that lies behind HTC Hollywood Trading Company’s collection for Fall/Winter 2010-2011, delving into a vintage style with a decidedly rock mood, creating a look as casual as the famous patrons of this historic venue. The essential references to rock music and the world of bikers are combined with a military touch, mixed together for a unique and absolutely recognisable style. Clothes that never become dreary, as timeless as the people who turned them into cult items, generation after generation: it was 1955 when a mesmerizing rebel called James Dean defied death with his reckless driving in a film called “Rebel without a Cause”. His leather jacket made history and became a symbol of his time in the early Fifties. It became popular again in the 80’s but now had the addition of heavy chains and flashy studs, representing a new younger generation. The must haves for the season include: the biker jacket in versions using army style fabrics and embellished with HTC’s hallmark studs and the innovative goose down Bomber jacket in oiled or waxed cotton and lastly the parkas made from original vintage blankets. HTC continues to mix old and new in its Apparel collection and accessories, striking a perfect balance between the past and the future. Garment-dyed, cashmere blend knits, shirts and t-shirts made in conjunction with the Los Angeles Headquarters who work with us on our graphics and creativity. The garments in the lamé effect American jerseys are strategic and very cool, giving the garments an iridescent and shiny glimmer, or in the cashmere and silver versions. The trousers with belts designed out of the new studded applications are truly exclusive. Special processes are reserved for the denims treated with original vintage USA washes, colour washes, resin coatings, tears and lots of studs. For the materials, power stretch fabrics with a “memory effect” that keeps the shape of the body; canvases that look like American left hands reproduced with the original looms for an authentic vintage look. The gabardines and satins again have a military feel and are extremely hard wearing; the corduroy velvets are warm and hardworking. A gritty style for looks with true rock’n’roll spirit!

Ancora: gabardine e rasi di derivazione militari, estremamente resistenti, velluti millerighe effetto work, caldi e performanti. Uno stile graffiante per creazioni in puro spirito rock’n’roll!
