Western Skies is a celebration of the American West, its vast, aweinspiring landscapes and enduring architectural forms — translated into richly textured fabrics, rugs, leathers, wallcoverings, and trim.
Designed with timeless sophistication, the collection evokes a sense of place that feels both refined and deeply connected to the land.
The collaboration unites William Peace’s understanding of the Western environment — its light, color, and materiality — with Eric Hilton’s expertise in developing textiles that balance authenticity and luxury. Together, they created a collection that channels the elemental beauty of the West through tactile materials and a palette of weathered neutrals, mineral shades, and sunbaked tones.
At its core, Western Skies reflects the shared values of William Peace and Holland & Sherry: quality, craftsmanship, and intention — honoring materials shaped by place and made to last.

The romance of the American West has always captivated me. Its rugged beauty, wide-open skies, honest materials, and the way light shifts over the land create a visual poetry that keeps drawing me back. Over the years, it has shaped how I live and how I design in profound ways. I’ve come to describe this style, this sensibility, as Rustic Luxury — a balance of opposites: rough and smooth, weathered and polished, grounded and elevated. It’s about creating spaces that feel settled in their surroundings yet refined in detail, as if they have always belonged. For me, the Western Skies collection grew from that spirit — an exploration of natural materials, honest craftsmanship, and quiet luxury. It reflects the enduring dialogue between land and design that transcends worldwide. I hope you find the same.

Western Skies began as a conversation about place — about creating design that lives within a landscape rather than rising above it. From the start, William and I aimed to develop materials that felt inseparable from the American West: quiet, grounded, and deeply connected to their surroundings. Drawing from his archive of weathered objects, natural materials, and regional imagery, the collaboration evolved through research, material refinement, and pattern development. My role was to translate that shared vocabulary into textiles and finishes that reflect Holland & Sherry’s refinement while staying true to the elements that inspired them. Throughout the process, we often returned to John Muir’s reminder that “in every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks,” grounding our work in restraint and intention.
Months of development led us through studies of river rock, weathered cliffs, oxidized metal, and sun-bleached wood — subtle expressions of time and erosion. With mills and artisans across Belgium, Germany, Scotland, Chile, and the United States, we shaped a collection that feels both sophisticated and sincere.
My hope is that these materials inspire grounded, intentional spaces that honor the spirit of the American West while resonating far beyond it.
