WHO WE ARE

The Holland & Sherry Wallcovering Collection was born out of our longstanding devotion to fine quality and surface.

Since our inception in 1836, Holland & Sherry has striven to deliver the extraordinary in textiles. The wallcovering collection is no different, representing decades of collaboration, skill, and craftsmanship. Our goal is to blend the old and the new to further push the boundaries in custom. Through our multiple mediums and techniques, we curate a collection that is timeless, innovative, and agile.

At the Holland & Sherry Wallcovering Studio, we pride ourselves on our ability to realize any design imagined. Every pattern is conceived and executed in our workspace in Baltimore, where we develop our textured, printed, painted, and digital collections. But most importantly, the studio is also the foundation for which endless customization becomes possible.

Each of our artists has extensive training, and their skills are represented in the craftsmanship of their work. Our techniques span multiple disciplines, and our highly experienced painters and printers are masters of surface.

DEDICATED TO THE PROCESS

Our Holland & Sherry “textures” are the hallmark of the wallcovering collection, a curated anthology of the warp and weft across many different materials. A testament to our tradition, the collection is finely woven and meticulously colored, keeping in lockstep with our fabric principles.

Screen printing is a centuries-old printmaking technique that is as important as any discipline in our portfolio. Screen printing can achieve any patterned motif and is highly adaptable for color and surface. Identifying the best substrate and technique for a pattern requires exploring all mediums. The Holland & Sherry Wallcovering Studio is curated and agile. With small minimums, endless colors, and sophisticated techniques, we create luxurious, durable, bespoke papers. Our creative team can take an idea and an application and quickly turn it into an original design through a myriad of innovative techniques.

The result: completely custom, completely unique.

Custom

The breadth of capabilities across the Holland & Sherry wallcovering collections allows us to approach your custom projects with ease. Our vertically integrated studio and team of experienced artists give us the flexibility to bring your vision to life. Whether it is a simple color swap or creating a sweeping mural installation, our team doesn’t just handle custom projects, we love them. In most cases, our minimums remain the same, and there is no additional upcharge for customization, apart from a strikeoff fee. Strikeoffs are required for all custom products. Approved strikeoffs must be signed and returned to our studio in Baltimore to initiate production.

COLOR & SUBSTRATE

Feel free to mix and match colors and substrates for your hand-painted and digital wallpapers.

COLOR

You can provide any reference to swap out colors on an existing pattern, or for a design of your own making. We can reference paint chips, fabric swatches, etc.

SUBSTRATES

Love the look of a print on sisal, but need something more durable? Want to try the look of your plaid on wool? Most of our patterns can be printed on a variety of substrates, from vinyl, to textile, to hand-painted.

NATURALS

Our natural grounds represent the meeting of nature and artistry. Whether printed or painted, we aim to highlight the beauty of natural fibers.

INSTRUCTIONS

All textured wallcoverings are in-stock unless otherwise noted on paperwork. Confirm current stock availability with your sales representative.

Printed, painted, and digital designs are made-to-order. Confirm that grounds are available with your sales representative.

All painted orders require a control sample for production. Control samples can be submitted upon request for screen printed patterns.

No control samples are accepted for textured or digital products.

CFA’s are only issued for paperbacked wool orders.

Upon receipt of goods, fully inspect all rolls to ensure that you have received the correct color and pattern.

Check for possible color variations and other technical defects prior to cutting any rolls or hanging any wallcovering.

Hanging instructions are available for each product in our collection. Do not cut or hang any material until you have fully read the hanging instructions and undertaken a thorough inspection of goods.

No claims are made for material costs after the installation of more than three drops. Absolutely no claims will be accepted for labor or incidental costs.
