“Kovalam” is a beach city by Arabian Sea in Thiruvananthapuram city in Kerala. Kovalam means a grove of coconut trees, and it is very true to its name, it has an endless sight of coconut trees. It first received attention when the Regent Maharani Sethu Lakhshami Bayi of Travancore constructed her beach resort Halcyon Castle, here the end of the 1920. After a few times, the place caught the attraction among public by her nephew the Maharaja of Travancore. The European guests of the Travancore kingdom discovered the town as a tourist destination in 1930.
