ACT: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy With ACT Questionnaires for Clinical Assessment, 100 Questions 2020 x + 254 pages € 21.00 ISBN 978-88-98542-49-9 Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a psychotherapeutic intervention based on experimental evidence. Its goal is to help people implement concrete behaviors in accordance with their values - even in the presence of difficult or interfering events. The authors clearly describe how ACT works and provide useful guidance for clinical practice. Soon the concepts of fusion and defusion become familiar and the Hexaflex a way of thinking rather than appearing as a mere scheme. Acceptance and commitment replace refusal and renunciation: this is the innovative therapeutic challenge of ACT. This manual, enriched with metaphors and exercises that can be used in a therapeutic session, is intended for reading by specialists by tackling the themes of this approach with rigor and depth, taking the reader step by step into the heart of the ACT. The appendix contains seven ACT questionnaires for clinical assessment. The Autistic Mind Scientific Research Answers to the Conundrum of Autism 2nd edition 2021 xvi + 200 pages € 20.00 ISBN 978-88-98542-59-8 In the last decade, research on autism has accelerated dramatically: since 2010, the year the first edition of this book was published, more scientific studies on autism have been published than in all previous decades combined. To illustrate the extent of this acceleration: the studies on autism on which the first version of The Autistic Mind was based now account for less than one-tenth of the scientific literature on the subject. The second edition of this book provides the reader with a detailed analysis of the most important research in the field of autism in recent years. It is completely revised, expanded, and updated in light of the scientific and cultural advances that have been made in the last decade. It covers the major lines of inquiry in research on the autistic mind and illustrates the data, hypotheses, advances, and the many challenges that autism continues to present to science and society. New topics, such as gender differences or the support of gifted students in regular classes, have been included in the 2nd edition. Contents of the volume are various model concepts of giftedness as well as pioneering studies in this field. Psychotherapy for Children

Executive Attention, Memory and Self-regulation

2018 272 pages € 21.00 ISBN 978-88-98542-36-9 Cognitive behavioral therapy has been seen overcoming its own dogmatic approach of the first generation to evolve and give more emphasis to the therapist-patient relationship. The focus went beyond the “solution” to specific problems and treatment of symptoms, to employ change strategies where the context, the experience, and the therapist-patient relationship take on a great importance. The author makes this new approach clear and simplifies complex operations, behind which there is a solid and advanced epistemological construct. A Neuroscientific Reflection on Functioning, Assessment, and Rehabilitation 2018 244 pages € 24.00 ISBN 978-88-98542-32-1 Being the result of decades of research, this original book integrates the most recent acquisitions of cognitive neuroscience with the experience of meditative practices and Japanese martial arts. Critically reviewing a very wide range of scientific literature, the author offers a perspective intellectual, clinical, and (re) habilitative of executive-attentive systems, rigorous from both the theoretical and experimental side, not b iased by reductionisms and localizations, but capable of contributing to the understanding of our most intimate ability and to propose effective clinical interventions.

The anamnestic interview is the starting point of each (psycho)diagnostic process. It refers to three macro-areas according to a concept of multidimensional health and disease, intended as the outcome of the interaction between the biological, psychological, and social areas. So, it is possible to collect a set of data that allows for the reconstruction of a patient’s history, experiences, and of significant life events. In the appendix, the data collection model developed by the Association for Research in Clinical Psychology of Milan (ARP) is presented.

The implementation of exposure therapy into everyday clinical practice, although proven to be highly effective for a range of disorders, is still insufficient. Therefore, this book provides up-to-date information on this form of intervention and provides a concrete guide for the practical and therapeutic implementation of different confrontational procedures.

Behavioral Activation 2021 137 pages € 24.95 ISBN 978-3-8017-2984-4 Behavioral activation are classical behavioral therapy methods that aim at increasing the occurrence of behaviors that have a reinforcing effect in everyday life. They often provide the starting point for further steps in therapy and for successful treatment. The goal is to enable patients to motivate themselves performing everyday actions independent of current moods and thus to learn a form of emotion regulation. In the field of depression treatment, behavioral activation is one of the standards of psychotherapy. Mood-lifting and stabilizing effects of reinforcing activities can counter typical depressive symptoms, such as withdrawal, passivity, and decreased drive. The book describes the method of behavioral activation, informs about its mode of action, and explains its concrete implementation in clinical practice. Psychological Assessment and Treatment of Older Adults 2021 266 pages € 50.95 ISBN 978-0-88937-571-0 Learn about the key issues when assessing and treating older adults with mental health problems: • Expert guidance through the key topics • Highlights the best assessment and treatment practices • Addresses diversity, ethical, and health system issues • Full of real-life case examples • Resources in the appendix to test your knowledge Mental health practitioners are encountering an ever-growing number of older adults and so an up-to-date and comprehensive text addressing the special considerations that arise in the psychological assessment and treatment of this population is vital. This accessible handbook does just that by introducing the key topics that psychologists and other health professionals face when working with older adults. Each area is introduced and then the special considerations for older adults are explored, including specific ethical and healthcare system issues. The use of case examples brings the topics further to life. An important feature of the book is the interweaving of diversity issues (culture, race, sexuality, etc.) within the text to lend an inclusive, contemporary insight into these important practice components. The Pikes Peak Geropsychology Knowledge and Skill Assessment Tool is included in an appendix so readers can test their knowledge, which will be helpful for those aiming for board certification in geropsychology (ABGERO). Affected persons and their social environment suffer considerably and the treatment is difficult as the affected person tends to display aggressive behavior and rejects any help. The author describes the disorder and presents models for the development and maintenance of embitterment. The treatment of the embitterment disorder is presented in a practice-oriented manner, with methods of cognitive behavioral therapy, especially with the help of wisdom strategies. Patients learn strategies to cope with their inner grievance in order to create the conditions for an inner “reconciliation” with the embitterment-inducing events and causes. The aim is to actively come to terms with the past in order to enable a reorientation towards the future.

2019 105 pages € 19.95 ISBN 978-3-8017-2748-2 With rumination being identified as a central factor for the development and maintenance of emotional disorders, a promising approach is to make rumination the starting point of therapeutic interventions. Compared to the cognitive-behavioral approach, therapy focusses less on the processing of content that is the center of rumination, but on the process of ruminating itself. In addition to an overview over the current state of research regarding the role of rumination in mental disorders, this title provides the reader with practice- oriented strategies to explore patients’ rumination processes, as well as questionnaires that help detect different reactions related to rumination. This title further shows different therapeutic strategies for the treatment of persistent rumination. Special attention is given to rumination focussed i nterventions from metacognitive therapy as well as rumination focused cognitive behavioral therapy (RFCBT).

Borderline disorder is a complex, serious, and nonspecifically treated, often chronic disorder that often leads to the limits of emotional resilience for those affected and their social environment. With the development of disorder-specific treatment concepts in the 1990s, empirically proven treatment success was demonstrated for the first time.

Imagery Rescripting is an experiential technique for the reduction of negative feelings, which are presumably related to biographical experiences. Based on the current problematic feeling, memory images are processed in such a way that the associated negative feelings are replaced by desired feelings. Thus, trauma-associated memory images, such as flashbacks, which are associated with memories of physical or sexual abuse and which occur for example in post-traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorders, can be processed. It can also help treat negative emotions such as shame, anger, guilt, or fear, which are presumably related to previous experiences.

Borderline Personality Disorder

This book is based on the dialectical-behavioral psychotherapy of Marsha Linehan and presents theoretical and treatment principles in concise form. The volume offers many practical tips for diagnosing, planning treatment, and structuring outpatient and inpatient treatment. Therapists will find a clearly structured treatment concept as well as numerous practice-oriented instructions for coping with this therapeutic challenge. Personality Disorders A Clarification-Oriented Psychotherapy Treatment Model 2019 254 pages € 39.95 ISBN 978-0-88937-552-9 This practice-oriented guide presents a model of personality disorders (PDs) based on the latest research showing that “pure” PDs are due to relationship disturbances. The reader gains concise and clear information about the dualaction regulation model and the framework for clarification-oriented psychotherapy, which relates the relationship dysfunction to central relationship motives and games. Practical information is given on how to behave with clients and clear therapeutic strategies based on a five-phase model are outlined to help therapists manage interactional problems in therapy and to assist clients in achieving effective change. The eight pure personality disorders are each explored in detail so the reader learns about the specific features of each disorder and the associated interactional motives, dysfunctional schemas, and relationship games and tests, as well as which therapeutic approaches are appropriate for a particular PD. As the development of a trusting therapeutic relationship is difficult with this client group, detailed strategies and tips are given throughout. Diagnosis of Trauma Sequelae Multiaxial Trauma Model of Dissociation according to ICD-11 2020 328 pages € 59.95 ISBN 978-3-456-86011-4 People with complex trauma sequelae often find themselves in a pattern of loss of control, helplessness, and dependency. A therapy that focuses on individual symptoms such as depression or a “simple” post-traumatic stress disorder often does not do them justice. Even more so when the wrong diagnosis is made due to false assumptions or a lack of information. What all must be ensured for the diagnosis to be made: is there a threat of intrafamilial or external violence? Is existential stability guaranteed during therapy? Are there investigations of legal proceedings in the background? With brilliantly structured overviews, this book helps even experienced diagnosticians to keep track of the variety of diagnostic options to be considered or ruled out and not to overlook anything. 2019 104 pages € 19.95 ISBN 978-3-456-85772-5 They are successful high performers and to the outsider they appear to be capable, qualified, and skilled. Nevertheless, despite obvious evidence of their actual capacities, some of them fear that they will not be able to repeat their successes. They tend to attribute career success not to personal expertise but to excessive effort or uncontrollable factors such as luck. People with the impostor self-image or “imposter syndrome” are convinced that they are not as intelligent and capable as they appear to others and that they have arrived in their positions undeservedly. They thus experience themselves as “frauds” or “impostors” and fear that sooner or later they will be exposed as such. This book examines the characteristics of the impostor self-image, how it can be identified, how widespread it is, how it develops, its links with other personality traits, and its effects. Finally, the question of countering the impostor self-image is explored, along with how people can arrive at a realistic assessment of their own skills, counter self-doubt, and achieve greater psychological well-being. Are you repeatedly visited by anxiety? Are you afraid of the dark, dogs, performances, or tests? Do you sometimes worry that other people won’t like you or might be disappointed by you?

Lotte the little hare is 10 years old and things aren’t easy for her. “Don’t fidget!” “Stop daydreaming!” Her parents and strict teacher Miss Lynx are constantly having a go at her. When it becomes too much for her, Lotte drifts off into her dream world. There, she has adventures as a brave pirate, fighting against her nemesis (who looks surprisingly like her teacher).

Wim the Raccoon is a happy guy; he lives in the forest with Hector the Hare, and they have a great time together. But then Wim changes. With Dr Owl’s help, Wim the Raccoon starts to enjoy life again.

Linn lives in the land of lights. Everyone who lives there carries a light within them that changes color depending on how he/she feels. Lately, Linn’s parents have been arguing a lot and her school grades are going down. Linn goes out less and less, and she spends a lot of time alone in her room. Her inner light is almost always only grey. She can also no longer see all the beautiful colors. With the help of her teacher, her parents, Mr. Fire-Eater and her friend, Linn gradually manages to take off the grey cloak. This means there are once again days when the light shines very brightly within her and she can feel all the colors clearly.

Karli can get really annoyed if he doesn’t like something. He quickly takes offence and feels misunderstood. That makes him angry and sometimes causes him to explode, like a volcano. But it also makes him sad that other people don’t like him as a result and try to keep away from him. Karli’s Grandpa helps him recognize and control his anger, so he doesn’t clash so much with his parents and friends.

Saying goodbye to a loved one is always hard. Jon, the little hero of this story, serves as an example of how children can deal with the pain of loss.

The circus elephant Enno can perform quite fabulous tricks, but he is often so fidgety that he runs into all sorts of problems. Enno is very sad that he is always so clumsy, which also sometimes makes it difficult to play with his friends. One evening, Zacharias, a fidgety flea, slips out of Enno’s ear and tells him that he is responsible for Enno’s fidgeting tendency and lack of concentration. The circus trainer helps Enno to handle his flea better, and Enno even learns rope dancing together with his flea.

Grandpa’s Star

When Jon’s grandfather dies, he becomes a star. Jon decides to look for his grandfather’s star to say goodbye, and begins a journey through space and through his own grief. He soon realises that this is no easy search. His feelings alternates between disappointment, euphoria, anger, and sadness. Fortunately, the man on the moon explains to the little astronaut the special nature and uniqueness of the stars for the relatives on earth. Only there do the stars twinkle and shine for grandchildren, children, and everyone else who misses the deceased. The aim of this book is to make it easier for affected children to understand their fears. They are taught that they are not alone and how to overcome their fears. The book provides parents, siblings, and therapists with important information about emotional disorders as well as practical tasks and exercises. Stories Against Anxiety and Stress 21st edition 2021 113 pages € 9.95 ISBN 978-3-8017-3117-5 Even at a primary school age, children can suffer from anxiety and stress with symptoms ranging from feeling tense to problems concentrating or sleeping. The stories of Captain Nemo help children relax and learn to let go of their anxiety and restlessness. The relaxation stories, written for children ages 5-12, can be either read aloud to the child or by the children themselves. The main character, Captain Nemo, invites the children to come along for his adventures on his submarine the Nautilus. The stories take the children to visit a coral forest, ride a giant tortoise, or explore the lost city of Atlantis. Through the stories, the children learn strategies to calm themselves and relax which they can then re-use in difficult situations in their daily lives. This widely successful book can be used at home, by teachers, social workers, school psychologists, child and adolescent psychotherapists, and psychiatrists. SELF-HELP & GENERAL INTEREST

A Practical Guide for Patients, Families, and Education and Health Professionals 2020 152 pages R$ 40.00 / approx. € 6.00 ISBN 978-85-85439-83-5 This book, written by experienced researchers Aurea Maria Stavale Gonçalves and Maria Ângela Nico Nogueira of the Brazilian Dyslexia Association (ABD), is aimed at parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals who care for children with dyslexia. Children with dyslexia cannot identify with the biological sex assigned to them at birth as it does not match their gender identity. The authors’ main concern is the non-identification and early intervention of dyslexia in children, which can put them at great risk of failing in school and later in life. It is particularly important how convincingly and forcefully they point out the need for improved early detection and early intervention for dyslexia. With this book, they expand the knowledge of parents and professionals in education and health and create hope for a better diagnosis and treatment of dyslexia and other related disorders.

Regina Maria F. Lopes Roberta F. Lopes do Nascimento

Dealing with Borderline Personality Disorder

Information on How to Deal with Hurt Caused by Injustice, Slights, Belittlement and Breach of Trust

Information for Those Affected and Their Families

2021 89 pages € 9.95 ISBN 978-3-8017-3116-8

2nd edition 2020 138 pages € 14.95 ISBN 978-3-8017-2974-5

Embitterment is an emotion that everyone knows as a reaction to injustice, insult, belittlement, or breach of trust. Almost everyone has observed it in themselves or in another person. Like other emotions, embitterment can be temporary, but it can also be very intense and life-disrupting. When it dominates life and a person can no longer detach from negative life events, help is needed.

About three out of one hundred adults experience a longer borderline episode once in their lives: violently fluctuating emotions, suicidal crises, self-harm and deep despair are accompanied by problems in the interpersonal sphere. These particularly affect the basic feeling of “belonging” to others, so that profound loneliness and lostness often alternate with disappointment and anger.

This guidebook begins by explaining what embitterment is and what triggers it. The volume aims to help those affected to get rid of embitterment and to learn a better way of dealing with offending situations, also with regard to the future. For this purpose, a method of problem solving is presented, which particularly refers to wisdom psychology and wisdom skills such as factual and problem-solving knowledge, change of perspective, self-relativization and emotional empathy.

This guidebook provides information about the various characteristics of borderline personality disorder and the current knowledge about its origin. The aim is to encourage those affected to seek effective psychotherapeutic treatment focusing on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which was specifically developed for the treatment of Borderline Disorder and has proven to be very effective. The structure and workings of DBT are explained, pressing questions are addressed, and initial guidance for self-help is provided as well as assistance for relatives, references to self-help groups and to networking with other affected persons.

Dealing with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Information for those Affected and Their Families 2nd edition 2019 74 pages € 8.95 ISBN 978-3-8017-2949-3 Traumatic experiences, such as a serious accident, rape or other acts of violence, a natural disaster or warfare can not only cause serious bodily injury, it is also a psychological shock. This guide helps those suffering from trauma or PTSD and their loved ones to better understand the individual’s response to the event and to communicate that the responses to a traumatic experience are normal and understandable. This title describes how the psychological consequences of a trauma are expressed, focusing in particular on the characteristics of posttraumatic stress disorder. It explains how it develops and why it sometimes does not subside over time. Many people recover even without professional help in the course of a few months from a trauma. For sufferers who find it difficult to cope with the experience alone, there are effective treatment options that are clearly illustrated in this guide. The 15-minute ‘Worm Treatment’ for Honest Communication

How We Unconsciously Sabotage Love

The Analog Man in the Digital World

2020 192 pages € 16.95 ISBN 978-3-456-86035-0

2021 168 pages € 24.95 ISBN 978-3-456-86150-0

Unconscious patterns of behavior that we carry around with us can often spoil love for us. Wouldn’t it be helpful if we could recognize these “programs” at an early stage and thus save ourselves a great deal of suffering and energy-consuming relationships with partners who are completely unsuitable for us? Often, we recognize the truth much too late, sometimes even after many years of marriage. Key conflicts usually stem from childhood, are “fueled” from the subconscious and make our (love) life difficult.

Is modern digital technology changing our social behavior, communication, and the way we see ourselves? How do we cope with the increasing flood of information pouring over us? Does this flood have an effect on our work and personal life?

Stop Beating Around the Bush!

2019 88 pages € 9.95 ISBN 978-3-456-85957-6 This title has been written for everyone who is fed up with beating around the bush, frustrated by finding themselves speechless at crucial moments, only to think up a quick-witted reply much l ater or are constantly considering what to say. With the help of the flatworm, the authors provide entertaining instruction in giving voice to dissatisfaction and addressing unpleasant issues openly and head-on. Relationship Tango

This book is about these undetected patterns which trigger a sort of dance of attraction and rejection between two lovers. It is a dance that never has a happy ending, but we dance it, nonetheless. The book is a guide to recognizing and eliminating the unconscious “programs”, in which the author also allows us an insight into his own experiences. Original publication: German “Beziehungs-Tango” For: • anyone interested in happy couple relationships Rights sold: All rights available

From Stone Age to Internet

Based on the premise that in the course of evolution humans have developed into social beings for whom communication with group members is of paramount importance, the author demonstrates how not only our communication but also our entire social behavior is suffering as a result of modern digital technology. In the truest sense of the word, we are being inundated with information that we are no longer able to manage. The volume and constant availability of interesting and attention-sapping news and information overload our brains. Are our brains capable of adapting to the modern internet world? Are we already overloaded? How will the future pan out? Driving Without Fear The Successful Program for Relaxed Driving 2nd edition 2021 288 pages € 24.95 ISBN 978-3-456-86076-3 Millions of people suffer from anxieties when driving. These include fear of highways, tunnels, or traffic jams, as well as panic before a driving test or uncertainty about getting back behind the wheel again after a long break from driving. But fear of driving is not always a fear of driving itself: many people suffer from deep-seated anxiety disorders which can have a massive impact on driving, such as fear of open spaces (agoraphobia) or accident trauma. Many accompanying symptoms of anxiety, such as palpitations, dizziness, breathlessness or the urge to go to the toilet, can be the primary causes of panic attacks while driving – maneuvering exercises in driving school or therapy will have little benefit if the underlying anxiety remains unrecognized. This guidebook offers many often-surprising solutions and aids for everyday driving anxiety and goes into even more detail about recognizing underlying anxiety disorders. At the same time, physical reactions to anxiety and appropriate aids are explained in detail. No Fear of Spiders

The Guide for People with Arachnophobia 2020 112 pages € 16.95 ISBN 978-3-456-86024-4 Fear of spiders is very common – one of the most common fears there is. Most people can cope with it easily, because they can avoid spiders or if they possibly have someone nearby who removes these unpopular creatures for them. If a fear leads to severe avoidance behavior, such as not even being able to look at a photo of a spider at all, it is called a phobia. Phobias persist as long as they are avoided, and they diminish or disappear when they are specifically confronted. This guidebook is aimed at people who are suffering from their fear of spiders and whose everyday life is severely restricted as a result. In addition to information on fear and revulsion, the authors offer specific self-help strategies, go into more detail on the topic of spiders and clear up common myths. The author Björn Rasch has been working in sleep research for 17 years and has been regularly asked questions about sleep in lectures, panel discussions and press interviews, as well as personal conversations. For the first time, his answers are now collected in this book. Although we think we know a lot about sleep, there is still so much more to learn, and this is reflected in the sometimes humorous, sometimes critical, factual, and occasionally not entirely clear answers. Basal Stimulation supports people in critical life situations, whose communication and regulation skills are significantly limited or permanently impaired. Perception, communication, and movement skills are central to this concept. Basal Stimulation is a form of holistic, body-related communication for people with major limitations. The authors Bienstein and Fröhlich demonstrate how carers can address, enable, stimulate, touch and calm people through sensory provisions. They specifically describe key elements of nursing with regard to breathing, bathing, rubs (ASE), full and partial washes, dressing, support, dental hygiene, mobilization, positioning, washing and help in swallowing. Talking about Health and Illness in Simple Terms

One Foot Already in Heaven

Medical Information Sheets in Plain Language 2021 288 pages € 44.95 ISBN 978-3-456-85998-9 People with intellectual disabilities are significantly more likely to suffer from mental and physical disorders than the general population. For this very reason, good health-promoting and medical care is especially important. The more pronounced a cognitive impairment appears, the more challenging the diagnostic and treatment approaches are in the provision of care. Communication difficulties with patients and specialist staff make the necessary examinations and treatments more difficult and can result in critical situations that are avoidable. If patients can be provided with explanations that are in line with their capabilities, then the level of anxiety and stress is reduced for all concerned. The treatment success rate increases. This large-format book includes materials that explain about illnesses, examination and treatment methods in language that is easy to understand. The materials can help medical, treatment and educational personnel with their everyday work. They promote dialogue with relatives and people with learning difficulties, contribute to informed decision-making and strengthen patient rights. Phantom Perceptions – On the Trail of a Mysterious Phenomenon 2021 312 pages € 24.95 ISBN 978-3-456-86013-8 Around 50 to 80% of amputee patients have sensation in the area of their amputated limb. The missing limb can give the distressing feeling of pain or of being trapped in a twisted position. Sometimes patients have the sensation of itching, tingling, or twitching or they even try to hold or pick things up. But what exactly is happening in the brain in response to the sudden loss of sensory information, and how do these changes result in phantoms? As a pain therapist, the author has many years of experience in caring for patients with phantom sensations, and he has recorded the sometimes bizarre but also touching sensations of his patients. Based on real patient stories, he offers the reader a clear and entertaining introduction to the fascinating world of neurophysiological phantom phenomena and the emergence of pain. He provides gripping insights into the brain’s ability to reorganize and the unusual effects of this on patients. With simple experiments to try at home, we discover the questionable reactions of our consciousness and body sensations. Fundamentals of Internal Medicine

2019 416 pages € 49.95 ISBN 978-456-85924-8 In the interdisciplinary treatment of complex abdominal illnesses, internistic co-management of the frequently occurring concomitant illnesses is essential. During their residency, medical students of visceral subjects often face internistic issues during their daily routine on the ward or during the night shift and have to react even if there is no internist on site. Altered Self-Perception in Dementia Patients – A Handbook for Caretakers

People with dementia experience their condition as a big change in which, for example, new events are not linked to existing experiences and wishes, thoughts, and actions can no longer be connected to each other. This kind of experience of the self, due to the integrative function of the brain being temporarily or permanently lost, is called dissociative self-experience. Based on this understanding of dementia, the author develops an approach to effectively understand and support people with dementia in everyday activities. Typical everyday situations and behaviours are presented and reflected on in a practical context.

A stroke induces existential uncertainty in people, creating a strong sense that life’s continuance is indeterminable. This first nursing science study describes and analyzes the experiences of people over the age of 60 who have suffered a stroke and who are in the acute phase of the medical condition. The author identifies central, primary experiences using the grounded theory method and suggests how the experience of indeterminability in people who have suffered a stroke can be dealt with.

Spiritual care involves an existential confrontation that addresses the meaning and significance of death for human life, transcending pain therapy and symptom control. It is not limited to the dying phase, but also has relevance for illness and other critical life situations. It is a form of professional human and social participation that newly situates suffering and death in the reality of the community. Spiritual care makes both into a visible and tangible part of the lifecycle, giving dignity and appreciation to both caregivers and those they care for.

This reference book introduces the rudiments and understanding as well as theory and practice of spiritual care. It presents the individual and interprofessional aspects as well as those related to concern and caring. The authors define spiritual care, uncover its historical roots, and outline a profile of its functions. Using examples, they demonstrate how interprofessional spiritual care work can be put into practice.
