The stags are big, the scenery immense, the hospitality endless. The pristine game habitats of our family-owned operation in the South Island of New Zealand are renowned for producing the biggest stags in the country. It’s here Top 10’s are harvested. It’s here numerous world records have been set. It’s here you’ll reach the peaks of trophy hunting excellence. We ensure you can range far and wide to gain that once-in-a-lifetime trophy. To complement our privately owned hunting areas we have long term lease agreements with large local landholders. Besides world-class Red Stags we also offer quality hunts for Tahr, Chamois, Fallow, Elk, Goat, Ram, Boar, Whitetail, Sika, Sambar and Rusa. These big game species are complemented by small game (rabbit, hare, wallaby, possum) and, time permitting, wing shooting. We provide a home for one of the largest privately owned trophy red deer herds in the South Pacific. Thanks to decades of carefully focused game management the quality of a Cardrona Safaris red stag is unbeatable.
Medstugan Hunting Lodge is located in north-west Jämtland, Sweden, close to the Norwegian border. This incredible building dates from 1896 and was originally intended to provide accommodation for hunters from other continents and for the nobility. Medstugan Hunting Lodge is now the heart of Fjelljakt’s hunting activities. Fjelljakt has been operating for over a decade, with a focus is on moose and grouse. However, it’s not just the hunting and the area’s exceptional game population that makes Fjelljakt unique. The company also offers a gastronomic experience, with the company’s chef selecting regional delicacies to provide the guests with a completely local culinary experience when the hunting day has come to a close. The sommelier carefully chooses the wines to accompany the menu. Fjelljakt hunts grouse in a classic manner, using pointing bird dogs. Hunting takes place in the mountains, in enchantingly beautiful surroundings. Moose hunts are conducted in two ways, driven hunts and hunting with barking moose dogs. The latter is a one-on-one hunt, which is the traditional type of hunting in this area and typical for Scandinavia. The lands at Fjelljakt’s disposal cover 16,500 hectares of roadless country, so it is not unusual for hunters to be transported into this fantastic environment by helicopter, in order to get as far as possible into the terrain. However, the hunts that Fjelljakt offers are physically demanding and guests should be well prepared. Fjelljakt offers you a unique opportunity to hunt in one of the last areas of wilderness in Europe. If you want to experience a tough, challenging hunt in a traditional format, which is guaranteed to give you lasting memories, we would love you to be our guest!
