KIREI Kirei is a bidet-integrated self-cleaning toilet which comprehensively solves insanitary problems in the bathroom. Its visual novelty as well as the new functions change the way we perceive a toilet, from “a place we contaminate” to “a place fith is terminated”.
WHAT’S THE MATTER ?
AFTER ALL, THE CLEANING IS ON US
Though, we live in the time where toilet even washes our buttocks, toilet itself will continue to get dirty, and cleaning it, is the most unwanted task of all time.
IT’S NOT “JUST” DIRTY
Leaving the toilet unclean, in fact, will harm us much more than we think. For instance, flushing unclean toilet with the lid up can cause the particles of polluted water to fly out into the air, possibly settle on door nobs, and even cups or your toothbrush.
STAY AWAY FROM TOILET BRUSHES
Toilet burshes are the “nuke“ in your bathroom. While a brush may clean the toilet bowl on the surface, it is also a perfect breeding grounds for germs and moulds. Mishandling could only spread the germs all around the bathroom.
PEOPLE CHANGE, BUT TOILETS DON’T People in the newer generation are getting more and more hypersensitive to germs and anything that is visually displeasing. While so, because toilets don’t change, toilets can only be regarded more and more as intimidating.
When we think of our lives of 30 years ago, our lifestyles have become so much easier. However, the standard quality of toilet in terms of function and visual appearance has barely developed in the past decades.
SELF-WASHING SELF-SANITIZING ERA OF TOILET
FRONT TANK SYSTEM Hybrid flushing system is a technology where both water pressure from the water pipe and the water tank is used to flush. Kirei takes this advanced system further. By replacing the internal tank from the back to the empty space under the seat, Kirei enables to drastically slim the body as well as increase the tank water pressure.
( L ) The ripple effect illumination glows the floor, ( R ) Spiral bowl quietly increases flushing power.
STERILIZER Kirei is quick off the mark in taking notice of the potential of Diamond LED. DIamond LED is a promising source of sterilamp for its high energy efficiency and safety for its liquid silver-free aspect.
( TOP ) Diamond LED emits UV. ( CTR ) Reflective UV diffuser on the inner rim of toilet lid. ( BTM ) Wall-mount remote.
ALTERNATIVE FLUSH KNOB While flushing is intended to be done by pressing the button on the remote control, In case of emergency such as electrical power failure, Kirei has a pop-out knob to manually flush.
REDEFINING AESTHETICS AND HEALTH OF BATHROOM CLEANING MECHANISM
When cleaning oepration is demanded, a spiral and a counterspiral flow of soap water takes place repeatedly, caused by the manipulation of internal air piston. Everyday dish soap can be loaded.
Hidden LED indicator notifies various status of the tasks and condition of the toilet.
Kirei toilet, in the market, intends its early adaptors to be luxury hotels, restaurants, or bars. This is to establish the exclusivity in its experience. However, in the long term, it is aimed to be used in hospitals, and eventually in general households.
FASNA A concept earphones with a unique attempt to solve common issues.
iida AWARDS 2011 BY KDDI JAPAN Fasna is a work submitted to a design competition, held by a major cellphone company in Japan, results to be yet announced. Fasuna is a earphone as a cellphone accessory.
HEADSETS + MAGNETS The ear pieces magnetically snap together in an angle which makes them easier to wear and take off. Common magnets are proven to have no effect on sound quality.
“Fasna” means “zipper” in Japanese, deriving from the word “fastener”. The concept of the product features the idea of using “familiar“ object in an “unfamiliar“ context, which sometimes leads to an expansion of possible solution.

The ideal form is eminently organic by nature, to relate and fit within one’s palm, yet the structural criteria are followed by technical anthropometric datas. The skin-like sensation simulated by the silicone rubber coating, makes you hold it and not want to let it go.
