White County Airport is a public use facil corporate jets of up to 30,000 pounds, or ity with the ability to land 60 feet long, with a 70-foot wingspan holding about 15 people. The White County Board of Aviation Com missioners operates the airport, which goes by the aviation desi gnations of ICAO: KMCX and FAA LID: MCX. The airport services are open 24 hours, allowing pilots to land or get self-service fuel even when it’s past the hours when the airport is manned. The runway runs north south and can be accessed from either direction. During regular hours, the airport has two visitors can drive into Monticello, and the courtesy cars available so city’s central business district is about three nautical miles to the north. White County Airport covers 51 acres and is easily accessible by the entire county. It doesn’t currently have international airpo rt capabilities.
