Youthful Landscapes Youthful Landscapes is an innovative 17 month project funded by LEADER (Shropshire Hills) and Heritage Lottery Fund Young Roots, designed to engage and assist young people from Shropshire and Telford to explore and connect with the unique landscape heritage of our local area, over many historical time periods. The aim of the project is to encourage young people to explore their environment, to learn about their local heritage and embrace the topics that inspire their passion and creativity. Young people from three local schools; William Brookes (Much Wenlock), Phoenix (Dawley) and Mary Webb (Pontesbury) have been involved in extensive workshop programmes and visits to a variety of local heritage sites such as Carding Mill Valley, The Ercall, Acton Scott Farm Museum and Wenlock Edge. They are working with experts from local partner organisations The National Trust, Shropshire Hills AONB Partnership, Shropshire Wildlife Trust and Shropshire Museums. So far the workshops have culminated in creative outcomes such as a touring photography exhibition, live showcase performances with music and animation, their own musical compositions produced on CD, stop-frame animations and willow sculptures. The current photography exhibition is installed at the Carding Mill Valley Tearooms until the end of January and will be featured at the Hive from 14th March- 19th April 2013.
