TULSA, Oklahoma – Salsa para comer, para bailar y hasta para jugar, fue el imán que atrajo a cientos de personas al primer Salsafest, celebrado en los jardines del Chapman Centennial Green Park, el pasado 19 de junio. El evento familiar ofreció sano entretenimiento con el objetivo de recaudar fondos para la organización Sustainable Tulsa, entidad sin fines de lucro dedicada a impulsar el desarrollo económico con equilibrio ambiental. Salsa Fest también sirvió de vitrina para que los restaurantes locales ofrecieran sus platillos, o más específicamente sus salsas. “He probado cada una de las salsas y me resulta difícil seleccionar la mejor … quizás debo probarlas otra vez,” dijo Brian North mientras se preparaba para el concurso de chiles picantes. La música del grupo local Salsa Rhythm Project amenizó en todo momento, moviéndole los pies a más de uno, especialmente a una pareja norteamericana que ha venido tomando clases de baile por los últimos 6 meses. “Descubrimos el baile de la salsa en San Juan [Puerto Rico] durante nuestra luna de miel. Ahora no podemos parar; la salsa nos ha mostrado un mundo completamente nuevo,” dijeron Charlie y Joanna Tate. TULSA, Oklahoma – Salsa to eat and salsa to dance attracted hundreds of people to the first Salsafest, held June 19 at Chapman Centennial Green Park. The family-oriented event was aimed at raising funds for Sustainable Tulsa, a nonprofit organization that promotes environmentally sound economic development. Salsafest also served as a showcase to allow local restaurants to serve up their specialties, especially their salsa. “I tried every single salsa and it is hard to choose the best one. Maybe I need to try again,” said
Brian North, as he readied himself for the chili pepper-eating contest. Music by the local Salsa Rhythm Project band inspired many to dance, especially an American couple who has been taking dance classes for six months.

“We discovered salsa dancing in San Juan [Puerto Rico] during our honeymoon,” said Charlie and Joanna Tate. “We cannot stop dancing; salsa has shown us a whole new world.” Hispanics also showed up at the festival, enjoying the food and Caribbean music. “We have to enjoy the summer, and this festival is new but good,” said Mónica Guerra while watching over her children enjoying the park’s fountain. TULSA, Oklahoma – Para agradecer a sus clientes por su confianza y apoyo, U.S. Cellular fue el anfitrión de Fiesta en el Parque, un evento que mostró la apreciación a sus clientes, de 4 a 9 p.m. el 20 de junio en el Drillers Stadium. Los clientes participaron en diferentes actividades las cuales incluyeron inflables, má-quina para practicar tiros de béisbol, tiro al blanco en un tanque de agua y el juego de Xbox Home Run Derby Challenge. Los niños tuvieron la oportunidad de pintar un mural con el tema de béisbol. Hubo comida y bebidas gratuitas disponibles para los participantes. Además, Radio Disney asistió al evento para brindar un sin fin de juegos y regalos. Durante el evento, U.S. Cellular ofreció Battery Swap (Intercambio de Batería), con el cual los clientes pudieron intercambiar sin costo su batería descargada por una completamente recargada. El programa sin precedentes que se lanzó en mayo del 2009 está disponible en cualquiera de las localidades de U.S .Cellular.

Customers participated in activities which include inflatables, a speed pitch machine, dunk tank and home run derby challenge on Xbox. Children also had the opportunity to paint a large baseball-themed mural. Free food and beverages where available for participants. Radio Disney also attended and provideed nonstop games and prizes. During the event, U.S. Cellular offered Battery Swap, where customers traded-in their dead cell phone battery for one that is fully-charged at no cost. The program, which launched in May 2009, is the first of its kind and is offered at any U.S. Cellular location.
