IT’S ROYALTY IN RICHMOND WITH ROCC MIKEZ!

(Virginia Unsigned Hype)

HipHopStardom101 Tell us about where your from & how long you been doing music? Rocc Mikez Well for those of you that do not know, I was born and raised in Richmond, VA. As far as the music goes, I’ve been writing music now for about 10 years. I recently started producing and engineering my own material a few years ago. From the lyrics to the music, majority of everything that you hear from me is my own original material. HipHopStardom101 How would you describe your music & style? Rocc Mikez My style of music varies depending on what mood I’m in. One minute, I might be working on a straight go-hard track and the next, something totally opposite. One things for sure, whatever I’m working on, you’ll like it…love it even! I allow the music to tell me what to say which in turn allows it to speak for itself! HipHopStardom101 Are you working on any mixtapes, singles, albums currently? Rocc Mikez You can download the prelude to my upcoming album “Unleashed” online at www.royalblackent.com. As far as the album and mixtape goes, you can expect to see those very soon! HipHopStardom101 What artist(s) inspired you when you was younger? Rocc Mikez Really? Wow, that list goes on: Run DMC, Dr. Dre, Big Pun, The Notorious B.I.G, Tupac Shakur, Eminem, Big L, Big Daddy Kane, Eric B. & Rakim, Jay-Z, Beastie Boys, Method Man, Redman, Snoop Dogg, Pete Rock, Talib Kweli, AZ, Nas, Timbaland, Pharrell, Pharoh Munch, Ice Cube, Ice T, Scarface, Eazy E, Too Short, Andre 3000, Pimp C, Bun B, 8 Ball & MJG, Master P., Slick Rick, African Bambaataa, Mobb Deep, M.O.P, Geto Boyz, Craig Mack, Doug E. Fresh, Mannie Fresh, Mase, Juvenile, Ja-Rule, Whodini, Humpty Hump, LL Cool J, KRS 1, Busta Rhymes, Mos Def, Will Smith, Kid & Play, and Warren G. to name a few! HipHopStardom101 If you had a chance who would you like to work with in the industry right now? Rocc Mikez The person I would like to work with the most by far as of now has to be Drake. I think it’s because we have such similar styles though, not because I’m just a hard-up fan. The way he presents his material is methodical. And if you know anything about myself, you know I’m all about making my next move my best move. I just feel like we could really do some damage on a track together! Get at me homey! HipHopStardom101 Besides being a artist, tell us something we may not know about you? Rocc Mikez Where to begin? Well, for starters, I’m somewhat of computer genius. It comes in handy when it’s time to drop a track or work with a new program in regards to dropping a track. Also, I can draw just about anything you put in front of me. That also translates over to the computer side when it comes to graphics, logos and other things of that nature. Other than that though, I’m pretty much your average guy. HipHopStardom101 Are you seeking a record deal or going independent at the moment? Rocc Mikez I’m always looking for something better, but at the moment its all about my label Royal Black Entertainment. We’ve been holding our own for a few years now and everything is looking great. So far, everyone on my label is receiving good reviews. I’ve had a few offers but nothing that really would have made too much of a difference I guess. You can find out more about my label at www.royalblackent.com. HipHopStardom101 What’s the best way for people to contact you if there interested in working with you? Rocc Mikez You can email me at RoccMikez@royalblackent.com! HipHopStardom101 Anything else you want to share with the people? Rocc Mikez THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUBMISSION

ANatural - www.Myspace.com/ANaturalGetsBusy

Independent Focus Edition

Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today. ANatural was born Joseph Boykin in Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Sethlow Housing Projects, Brownsville East New York. Due to the absence of my parents, I moved out of Sethlow into Pologrounds Housing Apartments in Harlem, New York when I was 10 yrs old. After the untimely death of my grandmother Gloria Level i was taken-in by my great grandmother, Willie Mae Boykin. I always had a love for music & writing. Watching artist such as Wu Tang Clan, Buckshot, MOP, Smif N Wessun, DJ Logic, The Repz, Heltah Skeltah, and the entire Boot Camp Clik perform on “Brooklyn Day” captivated my attention. To gain more knowledge about the music industry as i got older, i went back to school where i met Scott Man (a talented music professor who helped me record my first track). Scott landed me my first radio commercial while i was in high school. I teamed up with Critical Child Productions and went on to record many tracks in hope of landing a recording contract. We recorded at Bang Studio (N.Y), Squad Studio (N.Y), and Mystic Studio (S.I). I was later offered a publishing deal, which fell through due to bad management. I decided to move to New Jersey with friend and business partner, Bim Star. We both had aspirations to be successful. During this time I observed Hip Hops ever changing evolution and how it was being portrayed. I recently caught the attention of Dj Teddy King of B.E.T’s “The Deal” who hosted my 1st major project. After a recent switch of Management and surrounding myself with a solid team of people who believe in me, I finally feel that I have everything in place for a break out year. What is one of the mos drastic changes you’ve made about yourself in the last year? Figuring out that the more you do for yourself the more people will want to do for you. What would you spend you a million dollars on? I would invest half into starting up my own businesses and bank the rest. What was your biggest risk taken in your career? I would have to say just being myself. Most artist rather emulate someone else. We (TME) create music we enjoy listening to, music for the masses to enjoy. What suggestions do you have for other independent starters like yourself? Stay Independent, stay focus, stay on your grind, be consistent and ambitious. When you bring something to the table you have more say so to negotiate rather than suttle. What’s one incident that would serve as a turning point to your life? The passing of my great grandmother Willie Mae Boykin in 2009 was a major turning point for me. I realized that the only thing certain is the present. Tomorrow isn’t promise so live every day likes its your last. What is one of your favorite ways to promote yourself and your site? Promoting threw my home front T.M.E website (www.TimelessMuzicEnt.com) all my shows and all kinds of social networking websites. Be on the lookout for all of Timeless Muzic Entertainment Artist and my upcoming album MUSICAL THERAPY. Much thanks to everybody who believes in me and support my music. Tell us about where you’re from and when you started recording music? We are from money earning Mt. Vernon, NY and started seriously recording music as a group back in 2003. How would you describe your music and style? A: We are a mixture of things. Being that we are a hip hop and R&B duo, you're going to get a lot of melodies, harmonies, emotions, hard lyrics and innovative sounds. We sum all of this up in a genre that we created called "LOVEROC." J: Our music is cool, energetic, hot -- something for everyone. What was the highlight in your career? J: I'd have to say it was the first time I hit the stage and I saw the way people reacted to me rockin' the mic. That's when I knew this is it for me A: That's a tough one for me. The highlight for me so far would be the release of our 1st single "SupStar" and all the love and great feedback that we have been receiving. I say 'so far' because I'm confident that there will be more. Are you working on any Albums, Singles or Mixtapes currently? A: Absolutely. We will definitely be releasing our first album, still untitled, at the top of 2011. The next single, "LOVEROC" is already completed and we can't wait for the world to hear it. A lot of artists disappear off the music scene after success hits them. How do you plan on staying on top of your game as a musician? J: One Word - Consistency. I have to keep my pen moving. You'll never get anywhere by settling these days. You have to keep your grind up. A: Consistency within our music, keeping our integrity level in our music at 100%, staying true to who we are as a group, and lastly being able to adapt with time and the way music itself changes. What artist(s) inspired you when you were younger? A: Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson [of course], Brian McKnight, Boyz 2 Men, 112, Dru Hill to name a few -- Real singers. J: A lot of the hip-hop greats. But the two I have to say who had me going hard were JAY-Z and BIG If you had a chance who would you like to work with in the industry right now? A: Ryan Leslie is definitely one of my favorites, as well as Tank and Ne-Yo. J: I'm really interested in some producers like Timberland, the Neptunes, and JustBlaze. I would also like to work with lady gaga.. She's dope! What advice can you give to other artists like yourself? J: BE YOUR SELF.. Make your music count.. A: Integrity is key and networking is huge. Learn how to show love to others as well. You never know how that relationship you build can help you in the future. What’s next for you? Any major plans on the calendar? A: More shows, more recording, and of course finishing up our project. Also keep a lookout for our youtube channel. We will be launching the "GETFAMILIAR" series. It's going to be pretty dope. J: We will be competing in the Maybach Music Showcase and of course look out for the album coming soon. Any deals or situations on the table for you? A: We actually have a meeting with E1 Records (Formerly Koch) next month. We will see how that goes. Are you more interested in obtaining a Record deal or being Independent? J: I just want my music to be heard. I want people to know who FAM4LYFE is and enjoy our music. A: Well I'm a hustler at heart, so I can stick out the independent game until the right and best situation comes along for us. What's the best way for people to contact you? A: I'm a tweet-a-holic so the best and most direct way would be Twitter.com/ATVWATCHME or if you prefer facebook FACEBOOK.COM/ATVWATCHME. Also, check us out on Reverbnation.com/FAM4LYFE. FAM4LYFE.com will also be launching soon so you can reach us there as well. J: You can reach me at Twitter.com/SirRocAlot or FACEBOOK.COM/ROCKYJOHNSON. You can also follow our fan page on Twitter for information on shows and upcoming projects. Twitter.com/FAM4LYFEMUSIC Anything else you want to share with the people? J: I just want to all my supporters and ask that you please continue to support FAM4LYFE and spread the word! We greatly appreciate it A: I would like to personally thank everyone that has supported us along the way. From the blog sites to the radio stations here and overseas, all of the showcases that we won, just everyone that is down for us. Thank you! ....FAM4LYFE "GETFAMILIAR"

ADDING TO HIS KINGDOM: ENTER THE MIND OF RED BARON

HipHopStardom101 Tell us about where [you’re] from and how long you[have] been doing music? Red Baron I start off my song Southern Comfort (Hue I Am) by saying, “I was born by the river/Where the vehicle of choice was a ‘Lac or Chevy pickup/And the side of the track you were at is how that differed . . .” Basically, I was born in Memphis grew up outside of Atlanta and now I’m holding down Philly. I’ve been making music since I was in high school. HipHopStardom101 Tell us about yourself and what company you represent. Red Baron I am just a guy with a gift that wants to be used of God to get His Word out to His people, and if you would just listen, you would know all that you need to . . . I represent Sanctifly Music Group, LLC. We’re a Philadelphia-based production company that specializes in the authorship, recording, editing, release, distribution, sale, performance, and representation of recording artists’ work and the artists themselves. Our aim is to create timeless music that does not compromise our message. HipHopStardom101 What was the real turning point in your career? Red Baron This year’s been a blessing. I received some big compliments from key figures in the industry (e.g. EPMD, Dj Scratch, Lenny S (VP of A&R at Def Jam) and Mtv Correspondent Sway), received the Grand Prize in the Hip-Hop Category of Session 1 of the 2010 John Lennon Songwriting Competition, participated in some notable music industry showcases and received more radioplay, etc. Nevertheless, one of the more important moments in my career came early. In the fall of 2002, I participated in Clark Atlanta’s Homecoming Gospel Concert. I happened to close the concert. On that afternoon I did my song called, As in the Days of Noe. It’s based on a scripture (Matthew 24:37) where Jesus compared His second coming to the days of Noe (Noah). The concert took place on beautiful fall afternoon; there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. As I finished my song, I glanced out of the window, and began seeing storm clouds forming outside. Shortly after I finished with the final line, “Because looking in the sky, it looks like rain to me,” the clouds seemed to burst, and the area had begun to receive a torrential downpour. The rain fell with such force that we all had to wait indoors for the rain to cease. From that day forward, I knew this is what I am supposed to do. HipHopStardom101 Are you working on any mixtapes, singles [or] albums currently? Red Baron I am presently nearing the release of my second album, entitled, Shades of Grace. The album is the natural progression of my debut in terms of content and instrumentation. The actual content tackles some of the more compelling issues of our day—conversion, the intersection of race and faith, overzealous religious fervor, unity of mankind, the search for love, satisfaction and purpose—all neatly packaged into great music. The music itself includes a deft fusion of jazz, blues, soul and rock, but keeps its foundation in hip-hop. Hip-hop as a genre has lost a sense of its compositional element, and too often rappers and their audiences have grown satisfied with monotonous melodies and looped drum patterns. That significantly diminishes the aesthetic appeal of the music, at least in my eyes. This album will push the genre more towards making music again. It will be available on iTunes, Amazon, Napster, Myspace Music, Walmart Music Downloads, Zune and Cdbaby. You can find the lead single, Have Plenty (winner of the Grand Prize Winner in the Hip-Hop Category of the 2010 John Lennon Songwriting Competition) on iTunes right now. HipHopStardom101 What artists inspired you when you were younger? Red Baron Ironically, I didn’t begin listening to rap until my early teenage years, because my parents’ introduction to rap music came from the musings of 2 Live Crew. Naturally they forbid rap in their house, so I drifted towards their collections of the classics of soul as a small child: Marvin, Aretha, James, Bob, Stevie, Michael, you name them. Additionally, my parents also ensured that I learned to play the violin and piano at a young age, so by the time I actually encountered rap, my musical stylings were more influenced by Mozart than Mos Def.Once I started listening to rap, I initially hung off every word of any emcee that said something that demonstrated skill. Some of those who would prove influential included ‘Pac’s, Jay, Nas, Big, The Roots, Outkast and Common. Later, one of the more instrumental influences just so happens to be three great friends of mine that I went to college with—The Remnant. They taught me how to balance lyrical dexterity with relatability. In essence, they showed me how to be myself and not compromise my message. HipHopStardom101 Besides being an artist, tell us something we may not know about you? Red Baron I’m an attorney (yes you read that right). I’m blessed to say I have several gifts, which at times push me in seemingly different directions. PUT MY SH*T OUT! By NAS

Def Jam Executives Receive Scathing Letter From Nas Posted: Thursday - October 7, 2010 | Comments (0) Legendary Queens-bred emcee Nas was especially heated last night (October 6) when he wrote an angry letter to Def Jam CEO L.A. Reid, label head Chris Hicks and other top executives from the legendary label. The rapper, who ranted on for five paragraphs, accused Def Jam of standing in his way musically, pointing out that “the #1 problem with DEF JAM is pretty simple and obvious, the executives think they are the stars. The entire letter from Nas can be found below: “From: Nas To: LA Reid, Steve Bartels, Steve Gawley, Michael Seltzer, Joseph Borrino, Chris Hicks Subject: PUT MY SH*T OUT! Peace to all, With all do respect to you all, Nas is NOBODY's slave. This is not the 1800's, respect me and I will respect you. I won't even tap dance around in an email, I will get right into it. People connect to the Artist @ the end of the day, they don't connect with the executives. Honestly, nobody even cares what label puts out a great record, they care about who recorded it. Yet time and time again its the executives who always stand in the way of a creative artist's dream and aspirations. You don't help draw the truth from my deepest and most inner soul, you don't even do a great job @ selling it. The #1 problem with DEF JAM is pretty simple and obvious, the executives think they are the stars. You aren't.... not even close. As a matter of fact, you wish you were, but it didn't work out so you took a desk job. To the consumer, I COME FIRST. Stop trying to deprive them! I have a fan base that dies for my music and a RAP label that doesn't understand RAP. Pretty fucked up situation This isn't the 90's though. Beefing with record labels is so 15 years ago. @ this point I just need you all to be very clear where I stand and how I feel about "my label." I could go on twitter or hot 97 tomorrow and get 100,000 protesters @ your building but I choose to walk my own path my own way because since day one I have been my own man. I did business with Tommy Mottola and Donnie Einer, two of the most psycho dudes this business ever created. I worked well with them for one major reason....... they believed in me. The didn't give a f**k about what any radio station or magazine said....those dudes had me. Lost Tapes is a movement and a very important set up piece for my career as it stands. I started this over 5 years ago @ Columbia and nobody knew what it was or what it did but the label put it out as an LP and the fans went crazy for it and I single handlely built a new brand of rap albums. It's smart and after 5 years it's still a head of the game. This feels great and you not feeling what I'm feeling is disturbing. Don't get in the way of my creativity. We are aligned with the stars here, this is a movement. There is a thing called KARMA that comes to haunt you when you tamper with the aligning stars. WE ARE GIVING THE PEOPLE EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT. Stop throwing dog s**ton a MAGICAL moment. You don't get another Nas recording that doesn't count against my deal....PERIOD! Keep your bulls**t $200,000.00 fund. Open the REAL budget. This is a New York pioneers ALBUM, there ain't many of us. I am ready to drop in the 4th quarter. You don't even have s**tcoming out! Stop being your own worst enemy. Let's get money!

GETTING TO KNOW “STRESS” (NYC/LA Independent Grind) 65 MAX ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS

Stress Biography Jabula “Stress” Hudson emerged from a strong musical background growing up in Jamaica, Queens, New York. Born to musical geniuses; the legendary “Dark Prince of Reggae” Keith Hudson and Music Producer Jean Hudson, it was predetermined that Stress would be Hip-Hop’s breath of fresh air. In an era where many believe Hip-Hop has lost its’ touch, Stress’ musical prowess is much needed. Respected by men and loved by many ladies, Stress’ proves to be a very versatile, suave, street lyricist who is climbing to the top. Much of Stress’ motivation is dedicated to his Father Keith Hudson, who passed of lung cancer when Stress was 9 years old, and his Mother Jean Hudson who passed from internal bleeding when he was 16 years old. Following in their parents foot steps as well are his two brothers; Ricky “Tye” Street a talented reggae singer, and Keith “Trifle” Hudson Jr. a Hip-Hop artist, together these three men will carry out their family musical legacy. Growing up Stress did not have it easy; because of this he followed a dark path. This path lead him to a near death experience, Stress was stabbed by a rival. Nevertheless, he got well and still strived to be the best lyricist, emptying much of his pain into his work, and using that unfortunate incident as a catalyst, to strengthen his ambition and determination so he may succeed within the music industry. Stress’ musical background has made him well versed in many genres of music, including but not limited to R&B/Soul, Reggae, and Hip-Hop. Each genre adds to his signature style of production, which can be heard on his debut Album “Fahrenheit Affair”. The album, which is 90 percent, produced by Stress, features artist like Billy Cook, Tami “Taboo” Latrell, and Magyver, and also a creative “duo” remake of one of his late Fathers, Keith Hudson, songs. Stress’s Pop sensibility, lyrical ability, and “Swag”, has had many compare him to the late Frank Sinatra, who also shares Stress’s grace with music and his finesse with lyrics. Stress took a page from Frank and began to cultivate his own career, building his own music empire. An empire that has gained him much recognition and accolades in the industry. In 2004 Stress was nominated for ‘Best Rap Performer’ at the LA Black Music Awards. He has also been featured in several local magazines as well as Industry magazines, such as Unique Style Magazine where he received 4.2 out of 5.0 for his debut album “Fahrenheit Affair”. He has also been featured in Hyphy Magazine, Showcase Magazine, and Rap Illustrator. Stress can also be seen in “Unsigned”a documentary based on the trials and tribulations of many artist who strive to break into the music industry. Stress resume is very extensive he has worked with some of the best in the music industry. Lending his lyrical ability to two licensed songs for the TV Show “South of Nowhere” titled “Ching Ching” and “Fall Back”. He has opened for many artists; such as Busta Rhymes, 112, Lil Jon, Lil Wayne, EPMD, Eve, Young Bloodz, Ying Yang Twins, and Slim Thug. The debut album “Fahrenheit Affair”can be purchased through amazon.com. His autobiographical book titled “Jabula’s Happiness” is also available. CONGRATULATIONS TO RED BARON TOPMICS VA FINALIST/ WINNER MONTH OF OCTOBER 2010

MAN ON A MISSION FEATURING

FLAT IRON RYDER

(Reppin Denver, CO to the Core!) Tell us about where your from and when you started recording music? Originally I am from Denver Colorado. I was not born there, but thats where I grew up and began the musical aspects of my life. I recorded my first single to a "Rich Boy" beat back in '08. It was suprisingly successful throughout the North end of Denver and grew on quickly! How would you describe your music and style? My style is derived from Denver. So I make sure I add that poetic essence and its real street as well. Hardcore. Smart. Educated. A mile high above everyone else. You gotta check the diction. Are you working on any Albums, Singles or Mixtapes currently? Yes all three. Obviously singles to help promote the mixtapes and albums but there are three projects I'm working on. A solo album, a freestyle album and a mixtape sometime coming up. Be on the lookout for em. They should have that mainstream fire, along with that underground feel to 'em. What was the highlight in your career? So far the opportunity to work with underground artists in Denver has been my joint. Growing up was difficult times and those first steps will definetely stand out in my heart as the highlights of my career. A lot of artists disappear off the music scene after success hits them. How do you plan on staying on top of your game as a musician? Work the bottom to the top of the artist chain. I plan on including a steady influx of underground and top notch artists on my album. This way I'll appeal to everyone. What artist(s) inspired you when you were younger? Well, being from the West a lot of high altitude shit got to our headz. Dialated Peoples, Tech N9ne, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Don Juams producing, 2Pac and Woodie get the job done. "There is also a group called Pure Devocion that is Denvers icon on the underground." Check into em'. Are you more interested in obtaining a Record deal or being Independent? Obtaining a record deal. I know that a lot of people are crazy about the fact independent aritsts are more wealthy now than they used to be. All opinions aside, its good to have people watching/helping you out. To keep up with the good things and to help marketing. You need that support. What advice can you give to other artists like yourself? Believe in yourself. Contact your people. Dont pester em, but drop them a line. Let em know your still here and your stuffs with you. Carry it to them. Your products muscle so be strong! You can reach me on Facebook key word “FlatIron Ryder

ARTIST ON THE GRIND STARRING

SEPTIMIUS THE GREAT

Website URL - www.septimiusthegreat.com Booking - Cerece Entertainment @ 443-717-3576 or info@septimiusthegreat.com (Baltimore, MD UnSigned Hype)

Tell us about where your from and when you started recording music - Born in the urban streets of Baltimore, MD but moved to in San Diego, CA to experience west coast culture and then on to Virginia Beach, VA to find love and now back to Baltimore, MD my home (for now). I started recording in 2004 as a featured neo-soul rapper and took a break until 2010 when I went full blast as a solo hip hop/pop/dance fusion artist. How would you describe your music and style? What was the highlight in your career? My style has been hard to classify. In today's music industry it's all about originality and creativity so I decided to re-create the uniqueness and boldness of Prince, Michael Jackson, The Time and Madonna. My music is considered Hip Pop but I call it Couture Hip Hop which is a fusion of Hip Hop, Pop, and Dance with Fashion. My highlight as a solo artist thus far was performing at the Baltimore Artscape Festival in front of over 100,000 people and sharing the stage with Musiq Soulchild and Wale'. Are you working on any Albums, Singles or Mixtapes currently? This has been a fast track but familiar track for me, so my original thought was to release a single but songwriting has come very easy for me, therefore; I decided to release and EP called "The New Rome" of 5-6 songs in Nov or Dec 2010. At the same time being included on many mixtapes as well. A lot of artists disappear off the music scene after success hits them. How do you plan on staying on top of your game as a musician? I orignally planned to be a one hit wonder but re-entering the game now has opened my mind and eyes to the excitement of re-inventing myself as a character for each EP or CD that I release and I currently have 10 in mind -lol What artist(s) inspired you when you were younger? As a kid I have always admired artist that were entertainers, different, extreme, and oddly fashionable so my inspiration came from Michael Jackson, Prince, The Time, Janet Jackson, Madonna and most recently Black Eye Peas, Rihanna and Lady Gaga.

If you had a chance who would you like to work with in the industry right now? I would be honored and welcomely challenged to work with Sean "P.Diddy" Combs, Wil.I.am of the Black Eye Peas, Berry Gordy, and Clive Davis What advice can you give to other artists like yourself? My advice is to be different, be creative, be aware of your audience but stay true to yourself. This is the formula for a long lasting music career. Like one of my fellow local rappers just told me " After being in the game for over 10 yrs as a up and coming artist, Septimius The Great" has inspired me to step my game up and be creative and bold. Whats next for you? Any major plans on the calender? Well it seems that my calendar is booking up almost every weekend now because I'm on the grind with talent shows, showcase competitions, festivals, and concerts but my most major near future plan includes opening for Young Buck, KRSOne, Styles P and Brick Squad 1017 all within the next 2 months. Any deals or situations on the table for you? No real deals are on the table as of yet but my buzz is growing by leaps and bounds so I'm sure someone will want to sign Septimius The Great soon. Are you more interested in obtaining a Record deal or being Independent? Good Question - in my research..... A record deal would be out of sight but bad because you could get shelved for a year or more. Good if your label pushs you to the front and promote you. On the flip side being independent keeps you sharp, conpetitive and in control but this is fun but taxing on your emotions because of the roller coasters. What's the best way for people to contact you? Septimius can be reached on all the normals - Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, I Like, Reverbnation, Last.fm, Ourstage, and many other music networks but the main way to contact me is thru my official website www.septimiusthegreat.com where you will find my music, videos, pics, bio, calendar, store and contact # and email. Anything else you want to share with the people? The Name - Septimius is very interesting and educational. Most people don't know that the first African Roman Emperor was named Septimius Severus whom reigned 193ad - 211ad in which I got my name. He was best known for being an undefeated warrior with a huge following and well loved by his armies. He was also the creator of the famous structure called Arches which are now found in most buildingsworldwide today and all over Rome and Greece. So I created the name Septimius The Great as a re-creation of the history of Septimius Severus but a new music flavor in the 21st century which is brought to life in my new EP "The New Rome"

MONEY ON MY MIND FEATURING

DANNY CA$H

(North Philly UnSigned Hype)

Tell us about where your from and when you started recording music? The City Of Philadelphia.....North Philly, 20th & Somerset to be exact. I always used to practice recording my verses on different tape recorders I found just lying around the crib. I remember that Talkboy recorder (Similar to the one that they used in Home Alone 2). I would lock myself in my room and just go in for hours and hours. My first time in an actual recording studio was in 2006 when i recorded with Inner Vibe Sound on an track called "Can't Take Us" on their "Cointelpro" album. 16 crazy punchlines. That was all i knew at the time. It was hot!!! Shoutout to K-Mack & Bigga Dre. Good Look For That!!!!! What artist(s) inspired you when you were younger? I came up under the Major Figgas, Phillys Most Wanted, Ram Squad, Cassidy & Beanie Sigel Era. I was so impressed by those guys, that every time i heard some new shit from them, I'd just go and write my own. But, they were close and distant at the same time. Close because we were from the same city, But distant because they were on an different level than me. So those guys were great, But I was more influenced by those close to me. My Brother D.J Vader been all around rockin crowds and running sound for underground artist, And I was always behind him. So I would say they influenced me the most. Vader, Inner Vibe Sound & other artist that I've witnessed and interacted with first hand. What was the highlight in your career? I would say its an tie between the 1st time I performed on stage in New York, And August 10th, 2007...The day my first CD "Time 2 Grind' Dropped. You know New York is the mecca of hip hop damn near, So i was super excited when i got the oppertunity to perform up there. The Drahma Magazine Promo Show at The Public Assembly in Brooklyn. Packed place, and we just killed it!! Got shown so much love up there. But when I dropped Time 2 Grind, It was major slap in the face of all those who said I couldnt do it, And an major step up for me and all who was involved in my movement. I remember just looking at the first CD we put the disc and cover insert in like, "WOW, ITS ON NOW!!!!" Shit, its been on every since. 2 mixtapes came right after that. "Hustle Muzik" (June 2008) & "Tha Krakkhouse" (September 2009). Are you working on any Albums, Singles or Mixtapes currently? Yes!!! The new project is called 'New Breed" and is set for an late 2010 / early 2011 release. All original music. Its gonna be major!!! We doing this like the big artist and labels are doing it. Promotional tours, Set singles & release dates, Official music videos & even an Documentary DVD with it. We garantee to reach the masses with this one. Undeniable music. I can't wait untill its heard!!!! Whats next for you? Any major plans on the calender? First things first, the release of "New Breed" and the Documentary DVD. Im always recording so im sure to drop another mixtape and/or street album soon after that. All the while, just gettin out on the open road, from state to state, city to city, just beating everyone in the head with hot shit. To sum it all up, the next move is to stay consistant. A lot of artists disappear off the music scene after success hits them. How do you plan on staying on top of your game as a musician? By never settling. I was watching an interview with Rick Ross and he said something that stuck with me every since I heard it. That was to "NEVER BE CONTENT....THERE IS NEVER ENOUGH HUSTLIN!!!". I think alot of established artist loses the hunger that they came in the game with. In this game, CONSISTANCY IS KEY!! You have to treat your first like its your last, and your last like its your first. I think thats the problem. Artist gets caught up in that so called superstar status and it shows. Its also always good to have more than one hustle. My mindframe is to keep going. No matter what!!! Whether an project flops, or goes diamond, just keep firing!!! CONSISTANCY IS THE KEY!!!! What advice can you give to other artists like yourself? Stay in motion!!! Keep your drive moving forward. When you're on the up and coming, theres gonna be times where you get overlooked. But instead of packing it in, use it as an positive and keep going. The game has changed dramatically!!!!! It seems like its straying away from having an overall talent, and more so to having an gimmick with you. I wont knock no ones hustle, but to whatever your hustle is.....JUST MAKE SURE YOU'RE HUSTLING!!! The sky's the limit!!! (See you all on top!!!!!) Ready....Set....GRIND!!!!!! Anything else you want to share with the people? I just wanna thank GOD for providing me with the strength and talent to progress. I am forever greatful!!! Shoutout to my city, my fam, my fans, my supporters, friends & associates all over!!! Big shoutout to my gang...The Green Team!!! Peanut Tha Prez (From the back of the class, to stacking this math!!!), Fly-Aye (I'ma put that millie in yo hands bro. Stay With Me!!!) Big Tom (I cant wait to see how you gon trip when we blow!!!), D.J Vader (Where I go, You go!! Thanks for being the first one to spin an Danny Ca$h record!!), Shad, Rok, Young Fattz & everyone who has purchased or have downloaded an Danny Ca$h mixtape. Thanks for all of your support and I promise to keep at it!! To the rest of the world who is waitin for someone to take the trash out....CONSIDER US THE CLEAN-UP CREW!!!! Ready....Set....GRIND!!! Grrreeeennnnn Teeeeaaaaaammmmmm!!!!!

ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF MY NAME IS L.T.P

(Unsigned Hype)

(Spotlight Artist)

Tell us about where you’re from and when you started recording music? I’m from Philadelphia’s Logan area, and I started composing lyrics at the age of 14 and I’ve been on a journey ever since. How would you describe your music and style? My style of music is southern from what I’ve been told from other listeners. I focus on giving people soul food and not fast food, meaning soul food is catered to the individual, while fast food is for your convenience (hence the term fast food). I would rather give the listener something that took time and not something that is fast & sloppy. What was the highlight in your career? The highlight of my career is when I switched management teams which created a wider audience for me to showcase my craft as an artist. My management team is Shades Of Brown Live Entertainment (SOB,LE) A lot of artists disappear off the music scene after success hits them. How do you plan on staying on top of your game as a musician? Honestly, I’m just focusing on maintaining my lane, keeping my head on straight and staying humble. In order to stay on top of my game, I just focus on giving the people my real life, not something fictitious. If I stay focused, humble and true to myself & craft, staying on top shouldn’t be that difficult. What artist(s) inspired you when you were younger? My inspiration actually came from my surroundings. Most of my friends were deep into the hip-hop genre, and I was attracted to the type of attention it brought to the playing field, so I wanted to be apart of that spotlight. Now that all of my friends have stopped rapping, I fell in love with the power of music and what it creates. But for the record, I was inspired by Cool C, Kool G Rap, and Biggie. What advice can you give to other artists like yourself? From one Artist to the next, I would say work extremely hard and being persistent is a key element. Also, always be yourself which is so hard for an artist to do in this industry. Any deals or situations on the table for you? As far as deals and things of that nature, I have a couple things in the queue but nothing finalized. Are you more interested in obtaining a Record deal or being Independent? A Record deal always sounds good, but the kind of record deal is very important. My management team and I are focusing more on creating a brand rather then sending a bunch of unsolicited cd’s in the mail to be returned. But for the record, if the right opportunity comes, we will be more then willing to negotiate. What's the best way for people to contact you? The best way to get in touch with me is contact my management team at shadesofbrownent@hotmail.com URL http://www.reverbnation.com/#!/thebandisveryuniqueandorigialinitsownway

THE NEW KID ON THE BLOCK AWARD GUEST STARRING CNOTE NESMITH

Tell us about where your from and when you started recording music? I'm from Connecticut but I call NYC my home. Thats where I'm at most of the time and thats where I handle all my business. I been writing my own songs since the age of 9, but I didn't start recording seriously until 2010. How would you describe your music and style? I would describe my music as "universal". It's very versatile cause I intergrade a lot of genres together, and i'm inspired by ALL kinds of music. Another thing is that a lot of my music is very Heartfelt and has a relevant meaning. One thing I'm doing is taking the ignorance out of Hip-Hop and merging it with the feel of other genres. Everybody wins! What was the highlight in your career? So far the highlight in my career has to be all the over-seas recognition I've been getting. I have a lot of supporters from Europe and I was shocked when a representative from Image Line (company for FL Studio) wanted to use my song for a vocal mixing, compression and effects. You can check it out if you just search C-Note NeSmith on YouTube. Are you working on any Albums, Singles or Mixtapes currently? I'm working on my debut LP. It's going to be called Paradise: 12. It's going to raise the bar for a lot of aspiring talent because the theme and meaning of my project is very intricate and to fully understand you have to read between the lines and listen carefully. The LP comes with a short story that the tracklist follows. Stay on the look-out for that, It's coming soon! A lot of artists disappear off the music scene after success hits them. How do you plan on staying on top of your game as a musician? Some artists disappear because some want to, some need to, and some others have no choice. Me, on the other hand. I know I'm not going to go away simply because of my genuine love for music. Some artist get their motivation from money. That's cool and everything but what do you use to motivate yourself once you have more money than you can spend? The love for music is the ONLY reason I'm making my music now. Money just happens to be an extra bonus! If passion is not the best motivator, then I don't know what is. What artist(s) inspired you when you were younger? Although my musical horizons is broadened now, when I was younger all I listened to was Hip-Hop. So my inspiration were DMX, Jay-Z, Nas, definitely a lot of New York rappers, and Tupac as well. If you had a chance who would you like to work with in the industry right now? I would love to work with Kanye and all of G.O.O.D. music. I get a lot of inspiration from Ye and studying his production style and techniques made my production game step up a lot! What advice can you give to other artists like yourself? Learn the real definition of determination. Getting your dreams to come true has no breaks. You literally have to be in grind mode 24/7. If not you may miss the opportunity you need to get you noticed. You never know when that time may be, so always be ready! Whats next for you? Any major plans on the calender? As of now my LP Paradise:12 is on the way, I have a couple tracks that is going to be released on iTunes, some magazine features, and I'm doing some shows soon on the east coast. Thats all I can really say now but keep in touch for more bigger plans coming for 2011. Any deals or situations on the table for you? Not now. A deal doesn't really guarantee success, so therefore I'm not going out of my way to look for one. If a label wants to hit me up that's fine but I'm going to focus on me just releasing my own material for the people and for myself. EYES ON THE PRIZE AWARD GOES TO

HENRY DA 9 TH & ENGLISH CHANNEL MUSIC

Tell us about where your from and when you started recording music? Well i'm from the UK. I moved to New York about 7 years ago now. I started to find myself involved in music a year before I left the UK. That heavily influenced my move to New York. A year after I had arrived in NY I began to produce and collaborate with different local artists. Since then I've been doing so ever since. Now I'm focused on working with a a few select artists that help inspire my creativity. How would you describe your music and style? Well at first I would of described our style as New York with a Southern Bounce. But that was back then. Now we have a nice range where we have a cohesive mix of Hip-Hop/Alternative music with a live feel to it. What was the highlight in your career? I can't say that I have too many highlights yet, I'm still young and expect a lot more from myself and my team. Ask me again in 5 years and I'm sure we'll have some fantastic answers and stories for you. Are you working on any Albums, Singles or Mixtapes currently? I have been very focused on working with an Artist who goes by the name of Riley. He is talented MC who understands how to do more than just rap, he can write songs that people can really connect with. Make sure you check out his most recent release. The "COLLAPSE EP" online for free! A lot of artists disappear off the music scene after success hits them. How do you plan on staying on top of your game as a musician? Success is only as good as what you make out of it. Once you begin to get recognized for what you do, it means you have a responsibility to yourself and others to push harder and work more to achieve more. What artist(s) inspired you when you were younger? There are a bunch that I always watch closely, Diddy simply because he truly has embodied what everyone artist wants to achieve, Eminem because no one can connect with his audience through his words like no other artist can. There is a pain there that I think we can only begin to see through his music. Mute Math - As random as this pick is, these guys write songs that I see as being simply perfect. With a little more time and push they could easily be one of the greatest bands ever! My last has to be Imogen Heap. She write songs in such a mysterious way. It's as if everyone with their own individual issues can understand and relate to each song she puts together. If you had a chance who would you like to work with in the industry right now? Mute Math - Their still growing and I would love to work with such a creative band. Also Craig David, I think if he was really brought over to the US he would out shine a lot of other guys in that genre. What advice can you give to other artists like yourself? Hold on to your dreams and keep pushing. No matter how bad things get you have to keep your eye on the prize. So make sure you surround yourself with people who can help you move forward and not hold you back! Whats next for you? Any major plans on the calender? Just preparing a few more projects to give away for free and hopefully a tour next year. Any deals or situations on the table for you? Thats all on the hush hush right now.

Are you more interested in obtaining a Record deal or being Independent? I like the idea of both. On a major you get an exposure most independents can't easily do. but as an Independent you have the freedom that most majors won't allow you to have. What's the best way for people to contact you? Via email - henry@englishchannelmusic.com Anything else you want to share with the people? The music industry is back in the artists hands now. We control so much of what we couldn't before. So we have to work together to pull ourselves all up. The better we all do the better the industry does.... The more money we make!

GETTING TO KNOW THE NEW FRESH FACES WITH SPECIAL GUEST GROUP FIVE BLOCK

Tell us about where you’re from and when you started recording music? We’re from Nassau County in Long Island; mainly in Bellmore and Wantagh. Individually, recording music has been a passion of all of ours since early high school days. How would you describe your music and style? Real hip-hop…nothing more, nothing less -- certainly beyond what most may consider or decipher to be “real.” Are you working on any Albums, Singles or Mixtapes currently? Yes , We are currently working on two mixtapes : "Instrumental Clinic 3" & "I Father". That’s enough to be said in and of itself.

A lot of artists disappear off the music scene after success hits them. How do you plan on staying on top of your game as a musician? It’s all about staying true to the music for the passion. Success is psychological. One can never settle for what they may feel as successful. Integrity is everything, too. But above all, we enjoy what we do and we’re all about enjoying ourselves as well as our own music. If you had a chance who would you like to work with in the industry right now? Anyone who is willing to coincide for the same ideals we strive for. What advice can you give to other artists like yourself? Stay true to yourself, as cliché as that may sound, but it’s the truth. You have to be about what you’re about, not about what the next man says you should be about. What’s next for you? Any major plans on the calender? Just making the next track better than the one prior...we do shows left and right as a group and individually, as well as open mics, tournaments, etc. We’re all busy as individuals, but even more so artists. Are you more interested in obtaining a Record deal or being Independent? Obtaining a recored deals is asking to be a SLAVE .
