 Do I have to be a good singer? No.  How long will it last? Around an hour.  Will it be cold? Yes, probably.  Will I get a hot drink in 105 afterwards? Yes!

A really good crowd will be a great witness. Please don’t say, “It isn’t for me”. It is! We are all in this together. Hope to see you there!

Church Carol Service: 19th December at 6.00pm, followed by light refreshments in Church Hall. Invite others to come with you! During this service a crèche will be available for small children. Communicants’ Classes: Anyone wishing to join the church as a communicant member should speak to the minister as soon as possible. Classes will be beginning in the New Year with a view to new communicants joining in May.

Anchor Boy & Junior Section Carol Service: This year 1st Waringstown will be hosting our Battalion Carol Service. Boys should meet on Tuesday 6th December for 6.45pm at Waringstown Church, wearing BB sweatshirts. Please join with us as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the real “Reason For the Season”. The service will last 45 minutes and will be very enjoyable. All parents, family and friends are warmly invited to join with us. A full turn out of all our boys would really be appreciated.

Rel8 will meet on Saturday, 4th December, from 7.30 - 9.30pm. The Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, 11th December, from 7.30 p.m. until late. Please remember to bring £10 for food!

Please encourage us by planning to attend.

We would like to take this opportunity to say ‘thank you’ for your continued support towards our BB Company and may we wish all our Boys and their families a very happy Christmas and God’s richest blessing for 2011!

Jellytots: We are having our Christmas Party on Tuesday 7th December from 10.30am until 12noon. Come along for lots of fun - a special guest will pay us a visit! We resume in the New Year on Tuesday 11th and Thursday 13th January. Kitchen Usage: Those who use the hall kitchens are asked to be diligent in tidying them up afterwards, including washing and storing all dishes and removing foodstuffs. This is a gospel matter – don’t leave them as you found them (religion), leave them as you wish you had found them (gospel)!

Anchor Boy Christmas Party will take place on Tuesday 14 December. Junior Section Boys will be going to the Pantomime on 14 January 2011 DV.

There will be no BB on 21st & 28th December and 4th January 2011. We resume again on Tuesday 11 January 2011.

Sunday School Christmas Party: Saturday 4th December: 2pm – 4.30pm: A good fun afternoon has been arranged for all the children in our Sunday School. The Juniors and Seniors will have a Beach Party Theme in the top hall. A lot of planning has gone into this party to make it age related, along with being a memorable and enjoyable experience. Please ensure children arrive at the party by 2pm sharp. More details to follow shortly.

Sunday 12th December - Open Sunday School - 10.15am to 11.10am: An opportunity for parents and friends to join the children in Sunday School as we celebrate the Saviour’s birth. Tea and Coffee served. Please come along. Sunday 12th December - Gift Service: Our Gift Service, at which we bring Christmas Gifts for distribution by Belfast City Mission to needy families at Christmas time, is being held during the morning service on Sunday 12th December. Our Gift Service is an annual event to which the children bring a gift to donate to needy children/families that are stretched, more so than ever this year, in order to make a difference in the lives of children at Christmas. These are distributed, carefully and effectively by Belfast City Mission, who use the opportunity to build relationships, and therefore earn the right to share the gospel with their contacts. The policy of the mission has always been to distribute new toys/gifts so therefore they are requesting that we only send new toys/ gifts. All gifts should be in by Sunday 12th December as the City Mission will start distribution from the following week. Thank you in anticipation for your generosity. Sunday 19th, 26th, and 2nd January 2011: No Sunday School on these dates. We start back on 9th January 2011. The Annual C.E. Carol Service will be held on Monday, 13th December, in Hill Street Presbyterian Church Halls, at 8.00 p.m. The varied Christmas programme will be taken by a number of C.E. Societies. Visitors will be made very welcome. The evening will conclude with

supper. The Annual Scout District Carol Service will be held on Friday 10th December 2010 at 7.15pm in Hill St Presbyterian Church. A warm invitation is extended to everyone and supper will be served in the hall afterwards. The collection this year will be for Meningitis Trust. The Scout Group would like to thank the congregation for their great response to our Christmas Shoebox Appeal. Over 120 shoeboxes were donated and are being distributed by Drop Inn Ministries throughout Eastern Europe. Web Resources: Some people have been asking about useful resources on the internet. Here are some we’d recommend. Ministry of Tim Keller - many free sermons and talks are available at the church website There are also around fifty free sermons available on iTunes podcasts. All Souls has a great sermon database that has material going back years by John Stott, Rico Tice and others. Free with registration. Ministry of Mark Driscoll - all Driscoll’s material is available free at John Piper - many hours of free material and many articles at One of the best and largest resources for online ministry is It brings together many of the world’s best gospel speakers and writers in one place.
