HEART FOR THE HOUSE MIRACLE OFFERING

PROCLAIM THE YEAR OF THE LORD’S FAVOUR LUKE 4:19 NIV

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.” LUKE 4:18-19 ESV At the beginning of 2022, we declared “The Year of the Lord’s Favour” over our church;

But what does it mean to have God’s favour on us? The Year of the Lord’s favour is also known as Jubilee. When Israel celebrated Jubilee, they looked back on God’s faithfulness and forward

We are so grateful for your love, faithfulness, and generosity — and we are expectant to hear powerful miracle stories in your life and in the lives of the many people that will be impacted

church remains the same. The Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) is to go into all the world with His message as we continue loving God, and loving people. Heart For The House is a special time for our church. It’s the time once a year when everyone who calls Hillsong Church home has the opportunity to bring a sacrificial offering, above our regular tithes and offerings, that enables the vision of our church to become a reality. Ultimately our contribution to Heart For The House helps our church outwork the message of Jesus and advance His kingdom across the earth.

CityCare - Youth Event

HEALTHY THINGS GROW.

CityCare

CityCare is an expression of Hillsong Church that partners with local organisations to help create healthy families and safe, inclusive communities. We are currently running 59 youth, women, children and family activities in partnership with various schools and community organisations, with plans to launch 26 more activities throughout the rest of 2022. When the various lockdowns and restrictions were re-introduced, we were able to pivot to providing ‘Emergency Food Relief’ for those who were unable to access the various government supports or who simply fell through the cracks. It was because of the generosity of our church, that we were able to do this, whereas many relief organisations had to close their doors during this time.

Youth Programs

Children & Families

SHINEGirl & Strength – Nine-week group curriculums, where young people increase their sense of value and identity, understand the power of choice, grow in emotional resilience, and dream and set goals for their future.

Children need families. Families need communities. Our goal is to see children thriving within resilient families and safe, inclusive communities which embrace vulnerable children and their parents or carers.

Youth COACH Mentoring – In partnership with COACH Network, young people are matched with a mentor to meet weekly over a 12-month period, working towards the achievement of a significant goal and increasing personal wellbeing.

Playgroup - Offers children a wide variety of play-based learning experiences, an opportunity to interact and play with other children of similar age, and carers and parents an opportunity to meet with others and share ideas and experiences.

Safe Spaces – Safe Spaces give young people consistent access to spaces in which they feel safe and can connect to their peers and supportive adult role models.

Family COACH - In partnership with COACH Network, Family COACH is a mentoring program for parents that offers practical help and mentoring towards their life goals.

Women

Our Village Project - Encourages people to consider opening their homes to a child who needs one, and to ensure those who do are well supported. This includes Information Sessions, Foster Care: First Steps content, Wrap-around Teams, and Trauma-informed Training.

Our programs aim to see women flourish by providing inclusive, safe and empowering culture and communities for women, including women and families experiencing domestic and family violence.

Crisis Support Homes of Peace – Is a transitional housing program for women and their children leaving domestic and family violence. The program provides housing and individualised case management to support families re-establish their lives and set them up for a successful future.

CityCare will continue to respond to crises as they arise, with Kilo of Kindness launching early this year to help those many communities across QLD and NSW impacted by the floods.

SHINE Women – Through the SHINE Women nine-week group curriculum, each participant develops an understanding of her own personal worth, strength and purpose and realises her capacity to build a meaningful and contributing life.

“Playgroup has been such a blessing for me and my girls. In a season of learning to be a mum of two, it has been brilliant to have something to look forward to in our week like playgroup. A safe and happy space to play and feel valued and seen but also listen, encourage and honour the challenges and triumphs of other parents. It’s safe, clean, welcoming, full of variety and free!”

ONE80TC

ONE80TC | Teen Challenge NSW, exists to rescue lives from the devastating effects of alcohol and drug addiction, to restore hope and rebuild families. This Christ-centred organisation is more than just a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, it’s a place where men and women find hope for the future. It’s been an exciting year for ONE80TC with 80 salvations, 37 Baptisms in 2022 alone, and 8 of our ex-ONE80TC students choosing to stay on for our graduate program, where they volunteer with the ministry for 12 months after completing the program. ONE80TC is now into its 4th year of running a women’s program and it’s become evident that there is a growing need for a women’s and children’s centre. The women that are brave enough to address their addictions miss their children and would be more inclined to stay in the program if their children were near. ONE80TC has vision for the near future to open a program that caters for both women and their children.

Josh’s Story “Before coming to One80TC I was getting myself into a lot of trouble, I was going in and out of jail and was truly struggling to stay clean and sober in the community. I was not dealing with my mother’s passing well and fell into avoiding and masking my grief with drugs and alcohol. One80TC rescued me from the depths of addiction and supported me with facing my mother’s death sober for the first time. The faith aspect of the program has truly restored hope in my future again after what feels like a very long time. Being here has led me back to God again, back to the church again, and has really helped me understand and realise God’s plan and purpose for my life. One80TC has also helped me establish trust again with my family and begin to mend the damage I had caused through living in addiction. I will always be grateful for the love and support I receive here.” * Name has been changed for confidentiality purposes.

A LOCAL CHURCH WITH A GLOBAL IMPACT. Hillsong Africa Foundation

Hillsong Africa Foundation

Hillsong Africa Foundation’s core purpose is to build lives that build a nation. This is achieved through a variety of programs including Shine WOMEN, ShineGIRL, Strength (for young men), and youth after-school programs.

Umekulsum’s Story Six-year-old Umekulsum lives with her mother and brothers in one of the poorest slum communities in Mumbai. Her father passed away a few years ago and it was difficult to survive without the sole breadwinner of

Foundation are believing to return to running programs in person and contribute to the future in their nation.

When they struggled for food, donations enabled them to get their monthly groceries. Vision Rescue also ran online classes for children who had access to a smartphone at home and thankfully Umekulsum could join. She completed the last academic year online and is onboard for this one too. Despite schools being shut for over 600 days now, Umekulsum has been able to sustain her education because of your generosity.

Vision Rescue

Vision Rescue’s mission is to provide educational pathways to children living in vulnerable communities throughout India, and to empower people to live with dignity. Over the past year, many of Vision Rescue’s core programs had to pivot as they responded quickly to provide resources to ensure than no child missed out on an education during extended lockdowns with over 1,300 children continuing to receive early childhood education through their Beacon Learning Centres digitally, setting children up for their primary education. Vision Rescue also empowered community volunteers to support children and families in their own communities providing much-needed groceries and meals. Through 2021 over 40,000 people were assisted with food relief, over 1,500 people were connected to government services and 2,100 people received health care during the period. Through our partnership, Vision Rescue were able to continue their vital work and ensure that the communities that they work with will have a future past the pandemic.

A21

Across the world, slavery is more prevalent today than any other time in history, with an estimated 40.3 million human beings enslaved. For over 10 years, A21 has worked with authorities to secure the freedom of human trafficking victims and the conviction of traffickers through holistic aftercare, safe accommodation and relocation services. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, A21’s frontline teams in Thailand and Cambodia exercised remarkable agility as they found creative ways to continue delivering core programs including awareness campaigns, Child Advocacy Centres (CACs) and aftercare programs. Despite the pandemic, A21 Thailand was able to reach almost 10,000 people with anti-trafficking awareness programs as well as support 40 survivors in 2021. Over the next 12 months, A21’s crucial work will continue, as they rebuild communities, support infrastructure, provide ongoing care to victims of trafficking and partner with government agencies to rescue women, men and children from slavery.

faces when I told them we couldn’t afford to celebrate their dad’s birthday. Our financial decline began after my husband suffered a heart attack and a stroke. We had big medical bills and he could only work part-time. When finances were tight, we often had to eat the same meal every night. It was hard and sometimes I would cry myself to sleep. It was a dark season, but I saw the church respond so beautifully. Our Connect Group helped cover medical expenses and our family was given a hamper at Christmas — along with presents for the kids. When the pandemic hit, despite all odds, God began to pour out His blessings. My husband received the full-time job we had been praying for and we were able to rebuild our life again. A few years on and financially, things have never been better. Out of the overflow, we have been able to increase our tithe and set aside money for the upcoming Heart For The House offering. God has restored us, not just financially, but also relationally and emotionally as a family unit.”
