Laredo United Unseats Laredo Martin 41-14
(Laredo, Texas)-High School Sports Magazine made its way into the Laredo area last month with its first issue at all Shell/Tejano Marts with pivitol matchups on the line. HSSM picked the Laredo Martin Tigers to make the playoffs and so far they had remained undefeated with wins over San Antonio Sam Houston, Carrizo, until they met up with head coach David Sanchez and his United Longhorns last week. Recently, Laredo United (2-2, 2-0) played Corpus Christi Calallen at the annual Dave Campbell’s Football Classic at the Alamodome in San Antonio and lost 21-14 in the final minutes of the game. Martin opened their season with a 14-13 win over Laredo Cigarroa (1-3, 1-1) but it was United’s passing game and tough defense that kept the Tigers off balance throughout the night. The Tigers will now play Eagle Pass on October 5th and the United Longhorns will travel to Laredo Alexander on October 5th.
