Why We Should Give

When I first started the Internship at The Office of Development I viewed it as somewhat of a challenge. The main reason I viewed the Internship as a challenge was due to the fact that I knew it would who is thinking of doing it.

push me outside of my comfort zone in areas where I had very little experience. The Internship offered me a wide variety of rewarding challenges that I tackled enthusiastically thanks to not members of the office who did not simply treat me as a pupil but as a colleague and a member of the team. The most challenging and rewarding task I ever undertook was the 2017 Fundraising Telephone Campaign. The whole idea of calling up a stranger and trying to create an interesting conversation considering I could barely hold a phone call with my parents seemed impossible. However, as soon as I actually began to call people I realised that all my nerves had been for nothing. What I was met with were a series of people who had all lived fascinating lives and were more than happy to share their fond memories of their time at school, which was a great privilege. My time at The Office of Development will stay with me as one of the most eventful and exciting parts of fifth year and I could not recommend it highly enough to anyone

only the encouragement of my fellow Interns but also the Callum Paterson Intern to The Office of Development 2016/17

During the Fundraising Telephone Campaign our Interns ask if recipients would like to take part in the Take Your Seats initiative to commemorate their relationship with the School. We extend our thanks to all those who have already done so.
