Gearing up for December 9 One more week to go and our first ever Christmas public concert is all set for the 9th of December, Monday from 7:30 – 9:30pm at the Auco Theatre at Huynh Thuc Khang, Thanh Cong, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi. Like what I have written in email this week, our church goal for this concert is: First, to help all of us at HIF to connect with the larger expat community in Hanoi. Our hope is that many of our friends and colleagues will attend because we all have extended invitations to this "Bridging Event" (and perhaps offered to pay for their tickets). The concert features a variety of very gifted musicians. We know that those who are not yet interested in spiritual things will enjoy and be drawn toward the reality of the Christmas story through wonderful Christmas music. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to share the Christmas Story with those in your circle of influence. Our second goal is to raise at least $7,000 USD for a new roof of a YWAM orphanage in Ba Vi District, which badly needs renovations. This is part of our Love Hanoi campaign. We are thankful that generous corporate sponsors are covering much of the cost so that your ticket donations
and all other gifts will go to the needs of this orphanage. If you would like to sponsor the event, please do let us know! Please share with all of us the experience of an effective Bridging and Fund raising event. Be sure to get your tickets today!. We have set-up a table just for that where you can get your tickets before or after the worship service. You can also pick them up at Joma, Tea Talk, Concordia, Donkey, or the HIF office during the week. Do pray that our God will be glorified in this event. To add, just this week, Pastor Jacob and Steve Copple met with several government offices and were reassured of their wholehearted support, approval, and their attendance of the event. Then just last Friday morning, we received the actual document for our concert’s approval! Thank you for your prayers. Again, let us make this an event we will all be excited to look forward to next week.
(As of this date, we have already distributed 200++ tickets. Let us work together in ensuring that the rest of the tickets will get into the hands of those in the expat community and others that we think should hear the Christmas story anew).

As you reflect on these passages is there any change in attitude or action that God wants to improve or change as you continue in your job?

Bible Study Questions 1. Can you identify biblical characters who served God by working well and with integrity in the workplace? What characteristics can you see in them? Here are three examples: Genesis 39:1 – 6; 21 – 23; Daniel 6:1 – 5; Acts 18:1 – 3; 18, 24 – 26; Romans 16:3; I Corinthians 16:19; I Timothy 4:19 2. How would you compare your role and your reputation in the workplace with that of those mentioned in the above Scripture passages? 3. Compare Ephesians 6:5 – 9 and Colossians 3:22 – 4:1. What points are unique and what points does Paul make in both letters. Can you review the points that were identified in Sunday’s sermon? Can you identify any other points or principles for the workplace that were not mentioned in the sermon. 4. Which of these principles encourage or challenge you in your present workplace situation? 5. Peter writes to encourage Christians who were suffering back in the first century. Some of these were slaves suffering in their workplace. By God’s
