Precinct 1 and the City of Mercedes celebrated the Ribbon Cutting for Mile 8 N. Between FM 491 to Mile 2 E. in Mercedes during a ceremony held in September. The project addressed issues on the roadway and will now allow residents from the area to travel safely and comfortably. It will also create a new corridor for growth and for traveling to and from the Rio Grande Valley Outlets. While doing this work we were also able to create and expand some of the drainage in the area.
