studies up to the next level Hayley Morrison – Dedication, determination and hard work were rewarded when Hayley Morrison won the Dux award at Kingsway School. Hayley was not only the school’s top student in Biblical Studies, Chemistry, Economics, English and History, but she also achieved a high distinction in Statistics and Mathematics Modelling. Hayley was awarded a Kingsway Scholars’ Award and also won the Senior History Cup and the Diligence Cup. Outside the classroom, she represented her peers, serving as a Year 13 representative on the Student Council. Next year Hayley will commence a conjoint BA/BCom degree at Massey University, which will be made easier by a bursary from the ASB Bank and a Massey University High Achievers’ Award, which included a $3000 grant. Louisa Mann – Wentworth College’s Dux Louisa Mann is hoping to fight crime after fighting off tough competition to win the top academic trophy. The 18-year-old from Army Bay hopes to join the NZ Police Force. She has already undergone some rigorous tests and is waiting to hear if she has got through to the next round in the selection process. Louisa was awarded the Dux in recognition of her academic excellence after she achieved 344 credits at Excellence and Merit levels for NCEA Level 3. She took out top awards in Chemistry, Physics and Biology and was runner

up in Mathematics with Calculus and Mathematics with Statistics. Her award comes just two years after her brother, Felix, was awarded the Wentworth College Dux trophy. Louisa takes part in a number of sports to a high level. She is a keen runner and has also taken part in shooting, fencing, swimming and the pentathlon.
