— Brand Identity / Print / Packaging: Biscuit Factory Records Brand identity for London dubstep label, Biscuit Factory Records, run by dubstep legend, Walsh. I couldn’t resist a bold identity which uses a bite mark cut out of a circle (vinyl) with a simple sans serif font which the two “C’s”, making up moving cogs relating back to a industrial factory feel. I created a housebag which will be used for all releases with a repeat pattern which stands out in the record shop and in the record box. The label has released some big names in the dubstep scene, such as Benga, N-Type, and Tes La Rok to name but a few.

— Illustration: Self Initiated Not forgetting my original talents with a pencil, pen and ink or a paintbrush, I regularly illustrate and take commissions. Whether it be from life, from the top of my head or from a photo, I enjoy using different media to create strong visual pieces. I have also illustrated for a charity cook book, now sold on the amazon website, and been commissioned to paint several large scale oil paintings. I combine my drawing skills in with my design skills for a strong combination of both.

— Brand Identity / Print Design / Website Graphics: Duchess of Kent House Charity & Berkshire Hospice Lottery Brand identity, print and web based work for the Berkshire charity. With the re-brand, I wrote the charity brand guidelines, chose several new typefaces to use on all documents to keep a strong identifiable theme throughout all the new print based work. Various pieces were updated including the seasonal newsletter, magazine, leaflets, fundraising collection box, various posters and signage, promotional material, letterheads, roller blinds used at charity events such as Reading Half Marathon, and A4 folder pack, complete with die cut inner holder. The design work complements all the work for Berkshire Hospice Lottery. The brand had to relate to the same colour scheme as the charity. The logo was produced onto various posters, promotional material, including pens, balloons and t-shirts. It was also part of a media campaign in train stations across Berkshire and the local bus service, which got the lottery maximum coverage and membership.

— Website Design / Graphic Design / Print: Time at the Bar Brand identity, graphics, web design and icon design for ‘Time at the Bar’, a bar and club locator website. In collaboration with Adventure Internet, a logo, colour scheme and graphics were designed to work on the website to enable users to locate in excess of 35,500 pubs, bars and clubs across the UK. This gives users access to clear navigational maps, a search function, clear and concise icons to represent each establishments facilities, and icons to distinguish each venue between a cocktail bar, wine bar, club or pub. Adventure Internet designed all the technical layout and coding for the site, including navigation and search function. The website was also specifically designed to automatically re-scale on all smartphones, thus being able to search for a suitable drinking place on the move.

— Print / Brand Identity / Graphic Design: 2nd Drop Records Ongoing work for electronica label, 2nd Drop Records, with a clean and bold identity, with the strong use of sans serif fonts, and the use of a guest illustrator to design a centre label for each release, using the track names to come up with a colourful illustration. The design continues with embossed ‘sound waves’ on the sleeve and logotype on the top right hand corner. The design work also spreads across the blog, facebook page and flyers and posters for their club nights.

— Brand Identity / Art Direction / Stationery: The Photocabin Logo, brand identity, stationery, uniform, leaflet, flyer and web graphics for The Photocabin, which offers a photo booth hire service throughout the country, hiring photo booths for all types of events including weddings, parties, and other corporate events. The clean bold brand identity included sticker decals and branding for The Photocabin photobooths, as well as embroidered hooded jumpers and screen printed raincoats. A simple black and white identity with the use of the Lubalin typeface makes this brand instantly recognisable, friendly and unique. Clear and informative graphics were also created for the step by step guide on the iPad inside the booth, enabling the user easy navigation to choose the photo prints they wanted instantly.

— Graphic Design / Print / llustration: Famous Quotes Posters A series of typographical posters I designed using famous quotes from explorers, politicians, sportsmen, creatives, pioneers, celebrities and writers. The series includes: Ayrton Senna, Leonard Nimoy, Winston Churchill, Oscar Wilde, Steve Jobs and Chaka Kahn. A website designed for users to upload and share their recipes and learn how to make classic and less well known Mexican food, in quick and easy steps. The site encourages novices and experts to teach their secrets and learn off each other. A collaboration with Adventure Internet, I designed branding, a logo, colour scheme and web graphics for the site. A clean and bold identity, relating to traditional feel of Mexico with its heritage and history, its distinguishable style of food, and the informative feel of the brand.

— Print / Brand Identity / Graphic Design: 2nd Drop Records: Future Foundations / Djrum ‘Seven Lies’ 3-piece record sleeves collaborating with illustrator, Adam Daily. I designed three sleeves with the same look but with different segments of the artwork for the centre labels. The design slightly differed from the normal housebags and centre label layouts, having chosen a new typeface and layout for this project, to portray the spectrum and variety of sounds and music on this compilation. Photos of Djrum’s ‘Seven Lies’ LP, featuring an oil painting by Jaya Mansberger. The design took a very minimal and noirish style, relating much to Djrum’s cinematic soundscape music and textured sound palette and influence. The layout is clean and modern, but also complements Jaya’s multi layered strokes and warm ochre coloured painting. The exclusive three piece vinyl also came on limited edition peach pink marbled high quality vinyl.

— Graphic Design / Print: Sub:Kulture Flyer and poster artwork for drum ‘n’ bass night ‘Sub:Kulture’, The night features some of the genres most famous artists from the wide variety and whole spectrum of the scene. Recent highlights include Nu:Logic, Spectrasoul, Grooverider, Bailey, Zero G, Xtrah, John B, and S.P.Y.

— Graphic Design / Print: Bassment & Resonance

Bassment and Resonance came about from a frustration with the lack of music available in the area and wanting to give quality Drum ‘n’ Bass and Dubstep a platform for other people to enjoy it. I designed all the flyers, posters, web banners, stickers, t-shirts, and promotional items. The 3rd Birthday cake was made out of old 7” vinyl, and the 6 boxes I made and wrapped for the Shogun Audio birthday. On the DJ Marky artwork, where my green bedspread, yellow t-shirt and blue vinyl were arranged to look like the Brazilian flag, then photographed and re-touched.

Skint Mondays is a weekly student night, with Cubed providing a monthly version on a larger scale with bigger acts. Cubed’s look and feel is based on seasonal colour patterns incorporating isometric grid layouts with the ‘cube’ theme throughout, which is subtle and mature, achieving a cleaner and more minimal design with bigger eye-catching impact. For the special one off nights, Dance Koko Dance and Dance London Dance hosts super DJs such as Alex Metric, Alan Braxe, where as Cubed and Skint Mondays have hosted SBTRKT, Olugbenga (Metromony), Zinc, Disclosure, Grandmaster Flash and more.

— Brand Identity / Graphic Design / Print: Sub89 / The Bowery District / Intertain I have designed a variety of print and web graphics for the Intertain brand, working on bespoke projects for Dingwalls, Walkabout and Maluko nightclubs as well as Sub89, Reading. I produced a variety of clubnight and gig posters, listings in newspapers and local press, signs and banners, promotional t-shirts, facebook cover photos and other web graphics to cater for all venues forthcoming gig and clubnights.
