HG Arts

about us HG Arts is an international, turnkey art consulting and wholesale framing company based in Orlando, FL with representatives located in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Toronto and Washington, D.C.The $10 Million, 50+-employee company specializes in providing on-site art and framing consulting, production and installation services for the hospitality, healthcare and corporate markets worldwide. HG Arts was founded in 1981 by Burton Schultz in Orlando and purchased by Edwin Highsmith in 1984. At the same time, Russell A. Glotfelty, HG’s president and CEO, was asked to become a partner, and in 1992, the company was taken over by the owner’s children, Richard and Lynn Highsmith, along with Glotfelty. Since that time, the company has transitioned from a largely, wholesale framing operation that began with 12 employees, a 3,000 sq. ft. space and an annual income of $200,000 to a full-service, art consulting and wholesale framing company that has expansion needs well beyond its current 31,000 sq. ft. facility. Under Glotfelty’s leadership, the firm’s services have evolved to include art publishing/gicleé printing via high resolution capture, custom-designed in-house artwork, and representation

of original works from a collection of internationally-acclaimed artists. Our client list reads like a “Who’s Who of Hospitality Design” including corporate giants such as the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Fairmont Hotels, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Marriott International, the Hilton Corporation, Renaissance Hotels and Hyatt Hotels. Additionally, HG’s roster of interior design and architectural clients include prominent firms such as Marc Michaels Interior Design, Godfrey Design Consultants, Flick Mars, Duncan & Miller Design, VOA, Leo A Daly, Perkins Eastman, Puccini Group and RTKL. HG Arts has established relationships with the country’s largest theme parks, including a longstanding relationship with Walt Disney World and Hard Rock Cafés, casinos and hotels. The firm has participated in providing artwork for interior design projects that have consistently been the recipient of the prestigious annual Aurora Awards that represent the “Grammy’s” of design excellence in new home-building in the Southeast U.S. Additionally, HG Arts has professional affiliations with The Hospitality Industry Network (NEWH), American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA) and the Frame Guild of America. Russell A. Glotfelty, president & ceo Russell A. Glotfelty has been largely responsible for the firm’s unprecedented growth and exemplary reputation. In 1984, Glotfelty became a partner in the Orlando-based art consulting and wholesale framing operation specializing in residential and commercial interiors for the hospitality, medical and corporate markets since 1981. The offer was extended to Glotfelty by Edwin Highsmith, HG’s owner at the time, because it was evident that he clearly had the business acumen, artistic sensibility and leadership skills required to propel HG Arts into the future. Under Glotfelty’s direction, HG, expanded from a $200,000, six-person office to what is now a $10 million, 50-person company with representatives in 12 cities. As a result of Glotfelty’s relentless focus on customer service since day one, HG Arts has earned a reputation for excellence that is unsurpassed in the art consulting industry. This can be evidenced by the HG’s long list of impressive, repeat customers that have counted not only on HG, but on Glotfelty directly to deliver as promised for more than 24 years. Prior to joining the firm, Glotfelty was the owner of “Picture This”, another locally-based art consulting and framing operation founded in 1982. In 1984 Highsmith, HG’s new owner persuaded Glotfelty to join forces with HG essentially merging the two entities. Glotfelty graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL in 1984 earning a BA in Art History and a second BA in Business. His credentials as an industry leader in the art and framing arena is further evidenced by the fact that he has served on numerous art, framing and moulding industry committees to help foster ethics and define trends. Glotfelty’s professional affiliations include The Hospitality Industry Network (NEWH), American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association (CFHLA) and Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA). Additionally, he has served on Color Committees for Nielsen Bainbridge mat board and the Art Selection Committee for Bruce McGaw and Winn Devon.
