2. Remove the outer bearings with a suitable bearing puller. See Figure 63 and Figure 64. 3. Place the drive axle in a press and press off each sprocket wheel. 4. Clean the drive axle thoroughly. Remove all nicks with a file. 5. Note the following when installing the sprocket wheels: a. Both sprocket wheels have an index mark that must align when both wheels are installed on the drive axle. After installing the first sprocket wheel, install the second so that the index marks align. b. Press the sprocket wheels onto the jackshaft to the dimensions shown in Table 2. 6. After installing the sprocket wheels, check synchronization as follows: a. Place the drive axle on a perfectly flat surface (Figure 68). b. Measure the gap between the sprocket teeth and the flat surface as shown in Figure 68. c. If the gap exceeds 1.5 mm (1/16 in.), the sprocket wheels are out of synchronization. Remove one of the sprocket wheels and realign during assembly. d. When sprocket synchronization is within specifications, proceed to Step 7. 7. When installing bearings and oil seals, note the following: a. Install new oil seals during installation. b. Install oil seals so that they face in the direction shown in Figure 69. c. Install both bearings with their shields facing toward the sprocket wheels. d. Install bearing on splined side (Figure 67) until it seats on drive axle shoulder. e. Install the end bearing so that it is flush with the drive axle as shown in Figure 63.

Installation 1. When installing the track, orient the track lugs to run in the direction shown in Figure 70. 2. Align the drive axle (Figure 71) so that the splined end faces toward the right-hand side, then install the drive axle. See Figure 62.
