Edelweiss-Magnolia Lodge donates backpacks Edelweiss-Magnolia Lodge recently made a donation of backpacks to the Foster Family YMCA’s Operation Backpack drive in Houston. The lodge donated 70 backpacks and other school supplies to the organization that will distribute them to children living in three low income apartment complexes. The lodge recently joined the Greater Heights Area Chamber of Commerce, which is a supporter of this program. New Braunfels has13 new members NEW BRAUNFELS – The September meeting of New Braunfels Lodge will include a potluck supper hosted by Violet and Delbert Tanneberger. The lodge will furnish the meat. Members are asked to bring side sides and/or desserts. Thirteen new members were welcomed at the August meeting.

A thank you from Project Graduation was read. A resolution of respect was read in memory of Charles Graustein. A donation will be made to the Retirement Home Scholarship Fund in his memory. Doug and Anne Miller made a presentation on the upcoming 175th anniversary of the founding of the city. They dis-

played pictures of the new signs to be built and new medallions to be put on street signs. Activities will begin in September and continue until April when the final celebration will be held. A group from Braunfels, Germany, will attend. Tommy Daum hosted a chicken tender supper served after games and refreshments. – Reporter

Bellville Lodge will meet on Sept. 23

Alice Naughton celebrated her 105th birthday in July. She has been a member of Louise Schuetze Lodge for 63 years. Many of her lodge sisters attended the party given in her honor on July 20.

Louise Schuetze plans anniversary celebration SAN ANTONIO – Louise Schuetze Lodge will celebrate its 123rd anniversary on Sept. 9. Members are asked to bring their favorite potluck dish. The lodge provided hot dogs and all the trimmings for the Aug. 12 meeting. Alice Naughton celebrated her 105th birthday with a party held in the parish hall at her church, St. Matthew’s Catholic. Many lodge members were in attendance. – Reporter

BELLVILLE – Bellville Lodge will meet Sept. 23. All members are encouraged to attend. The lodge met June 24 at the El Jimador Restaurant in Bellville.
