Prinz Solms Lodge donates for school supplies BULVERDE – Prinz Solms Lodge will meet Sunday, Sept. 8, at 5 p.m. at the Bulverde Community Center. The lodge has made a $500 donation to the Provisions Food Pantry for its back-to-school program to provide backpacks and school supplies to children in need. At the Aug. 11 meting, Community Coordinator Jackie Oldfield reported on two possible events. The next play being presented by S.T.A.G.E. is “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner.” It will run for three weeknds beginning Oct. 3-5. The Air Force Band of the West will perform Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the New Braunfels Civic Center. Jackie will provide more information on both events at

the September meeting. Membership Coordinator Doug Klabunde has contacted Brenda Lindemann, local Bulverde historian, to give a presentation in October on the history of the schools and notable property in Bulverde. Doug is looking for additional speakers to talk on areas of interest to members. President Cliff Klabunde reminded those present that membership pins will be presented in October to 50-, 60-, 70- and one 80-year member. Eleven members are eligible to receive pins. Game winners were Dale Hahn, Tom Pardue, Everlyn Teague, Doug Klabunde and Audrey Klabunde. – Reporter

Will Laubach presents a $500 donation on behalf of Prinz Solms Lodge to Weslea Miller, executive director of the Provisions Food Pantry. The money will be used to buy backpacks and school supplies for children in need in the Bulverde area.

RosenbergRichmond to meet Oct. 14 ROSENBERG – RosenbergRichmond Lodge will meet Oct. 14. Sausage, sauerkraut and a side dish will be served. Members are asked to bring desserts. Ice cream was served at the Aug. 12 meeting. Loyce Anderson and Marjorie Orsak were in charge of serving. Margie Krenek gave the blessing. Membership Coordinator Rosalie Byrd reported that a sympathy card was sent to the family of Lauraine Ognoskie. Get well cards were sent to Tom Atkins, Delvin Reuter, Edwin Anderson, Wayne Schmidt and Marjorie Engelhardt. A moment of silence was observed in memory of Lauraine Ognoskie. Community Coordinator William Benton reported that National Night Out will be observed Oct. 1. He also noted that the annual food drive will be Dec. 6. Members played games after the meeting. – Reporter

Helotes Lodge to meet Sept. 10

Poth has new member POTH – A new member was welcomed at the Aug. 4 meeting of Poth Lodge. The members mourned the passing of Marilyn Ortmann with a moment of silence. Lucille Novak was at the meeting. Members were glad to see she is doing well after surgery. Members agreed to award two Camp scholarships this year, one to a girl and one to a boy. The lodge plans to create a

Facebook account. Door prize winners were Paul Hosek and Beth Cutsinger. Three names were drawn for the kitty but Claudia M. Aherns, Charles Nathan Strum and Tiffany J. Griego were not there to claim the money so $2 will be added for the September meeting. Members enjoyed sandwiches with chips and strawberries and bananas and then played games. – Beth Cutsinger

HELOTES – Helotes Lodge will meet Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. Pins will be presented to members who are celebrating 60, 70, 75 and 80 years of membership. Rebecca T. Henley will host the dinner. Everyone in attendance will have a chance to win a cash door prize at the end of the meeting. – Letty Fragoso
