From our helpful service businesses to our beautiful countryside and local farm markets, Homer Glen has something for everyone! 2021 is a special year for Homer Glen as it marks the Village’s 20th anniversary of incorporation. Our community came together to celebrate this milestone with a number of events including our Kite Fest & Anniversary Picnic in early May and a fly over show by the Lima Lima flight team during HomerFest. This year also marks an essential step for our growing Village. From the very start, Village leaders envisioned a plan for the community to ultimately become an autonomous municipality. In late spring, the Village successfully assumed responsibility of its own roads with the transfer of stewardship from the Homer Township Road District. As part of this process, the Village created its own public works department directly accountable to the residents of Homer Glen. Watch as the Village continues to rollout our new marketing brand timed with our anniversary year celebration. A new gateway sign at our western border on 159th Street and Gougar Road showcases the new brand reflecting our unique community character. Enjoy the return of annual special events and the many additions of new events, including Market in the Glen, taking place at Heritage Park. The new 103-acre park located behind Village Hall is proving to be the community’s gathering place we wanted. I encourage you to shop and dine locally! The local sales tax revenue generated by your purchases are reinvested directly into maintaining and improving your community’s infrastructure and services.
