very satisfying giving to the children of deployed soldiers,” she said. “We’ve gotten a doll to every child in the state who has a parent overseas.” Even though the group has made thousands of children happier worldwide, the need for more help exists. “Right now, I need people that can sew, stuff and make hair,” said Householder. “But there’s a job for everybody if you come out to help.” The Barberton branch of The Giving Doll meets the third Wednesday of every month, from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. in the Arts and Crafts room at The Active Adult Center. CITY OF BARBERTON Fiscal Year 2013 CONSOLIDATED PLAN AMENDMENTS FOR HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS The City of Barberton is anticipating amending its 2013 Action Plan for the Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The Action Plans describes the City’s proposed activities for addressing needs of affordable housing, community/economic development and infrastructure. The City of Barberton is soliciting citizen comments on the Amendments. The 30 day review period of the Amendment begins on March 14, 2013 and ends April 14, 2013. The 2013 Amendment includes reallocating $545,116.00 from the Section 108 Balloon Repayment line item. The amendment is requested to increase the level of services to low to moderate income individuals. Persons needing special accommodations to comment or additional information may call the Barberton Planning Department at 330-848-6729.
