CANTEEN DESIGN (3rd sem)
The Design is based on the concept of a bow and arrow. The arrow(food) is released from the hand (kitchen) with a setup on the thread (pantry) while the main emphasis is on the bow (dining) which bends and reaches a releasing point at its Centre (wash area)

The approach road is the internal road of the campus The canteen starts with an outdoor seating allowing into the counter Pantry is right beside the counter and the kitchen and storage are lined up on the back side of the pantry and the entry to storage from the same road The dining spaces are divided as indoor and outdoor equidistant from pantry The hand wash area is placed between outdoor and indoor seating areas The indoor seating is coloured with orange shade to create hunger The outdoor seating is shaded with a pergola Indoor seating has fixed tables and chairs and are made of steel Out door seating has steel chairs that are not fixed so that there can be flexibility in pattern of arrangement of tables for different situations as the use of outer seating is more in college canteen
Exposed brick is the main material for the construction Shutters are provided for the main , wash and service entries Iron windows are provided all over
Large informal spaces on each floor for better interaction Community block is on the 4th floor an has direct access through lift
2 entries are provided for the site for more flexibility in parking as the site has two approach roads Lift is located equidistant from both site entries 3 plots on each floor 2 of them are double bed roomed and 1 is single bed roomed The single bed roomed plot on 4th floor is replaced with community area The common areas on each floor are faced inwards to avoid the effects of large approach roads for the site Rain water harvesting pit provided on the ground f floor on south east side Tot-lot is provided under the roof in the stilt floor
Slum design is based on the socio economic criteria of the site. 3 modules are classified based on the occupancy of the module. Maximum living areas on the thicker areas and amenities on the narrow areas to fit in the proportions of the site. 24 SQ.M MODULE
The secret behind surviving in high density areas like slums is the multipurpose use of both public and private space. So the design is based on informality.
14 SQ.M MODULE
The clusters are designed in such a way that the 4 corners of each cluster can be used as parking spaces. No special spaces for occupational use are provided as the majority of the people are city dwellers and auto drivers.
Bifurcated stair case is provided for direct access to the first floor.
Commercial spaces like shops are provided for the people to directly buy their needs and also to generate revenue for repairs in the slum.
Amenities like school , Open air theatre, community spaces are provided in centre. Jaalis are provided in each block as a factor of ventilation and also for continuous Lighting as slums are compact. A water storage unit is provided in each of the 24.sq.m module as the frequency of water supply is 3 times a week

Site plan include an internal circle Inside which all blocks related to MBA are places and out side the internal road are the blocks like amenities like sports
Amenities consists of central space connecting common rooms and two large rooms for each sport basket ball and badminton are placed on each side.
A council room and stationary room are placed at the entry
ADMINISTRATION Administration consists of central common spaces surrounded by the using spaces The common space act as the median for all the motions that take place in the activity as direct path
Faculty block is divided into two parts with the meeting room and the professors room on one end and the assistant faculty room on the other end, joined by a corridor which is connected to the was rooms
Academic block has 3 class rooms that are rounded by the seminar rooms and the computer lab is situated close to class rooms in order to reduce the walk path.
Parking is spread through out into three areas according to the higher used blocks namely academic ,auditorium and sports
Cafeteria is situated appropriately by considering the user statistics and also near to the inner road for direct access
AUDITORIUM It is used by people from the campus and some times by the ousters so the location is set suitably at the entrance of the campus and also equally close to the academic areas
Library is key block used by both the students and also the professors and so it is place right in the centre between academic , faculty and cafeteria blocks. so that the use of library will be increased as it visibility is quite high in the main academics areas of the campus
ACADEMICS SHOPPING MALL
PARKING PLANS SITE AND TRAFFIC PATTERNS: The site is located in a high traffic area and also at an large junction. The entrance is provided on north to allow free traffic flow on the east road One Exit is provided on the east so that the traffic directly goes into the Junction and from there ,their respective ways. If exit is provided only on north the vehicles have to go al around to reach east road and also the north road is narrow and un supporting for bigger traffic flow to take a U-turn at some point on the road.
SITE PLAN DESIGN: The design lines up with regular shops on the longer sides of the mall and the bigger stores like Multi-branded stores and Anchor Stores on the smaller sides of the mall The central courtyard space with skylight with its central platform act as passage and also consist of kiosks
Each floor has one Multi-branded store on the south side of the mall Two Anchor stores , each of two floor one starting at ground floor and the other starting at 2nd floor are located on the north side of the mall The central courtyard space divide the mall into two skylights each with one lift The multiplex an the mall consists of two fire exits on the west side of the mall The elevators are arranged according to the pattern of usage in the mall with a continuous flow Food court is on the 4th floor joining the exits of the multiplex Two floors are provided for the parking considering the number of people visiting the multiplex and shops at different time of the day

INDUSTRIAL DESIGN COMPETITION (NASA 2011)
AIM: To Design a functional product with one cubic foot of wood. PRODUCT NAME: THE GULLIVERâ€™S CHAIR Gulliver being a great traveler , witnessed places and people who were distinct from us humans in all respects but he surely must have faced great anthropometric difficulties . Giving this fictional character an priority the design would be an apt solution.
Since the product is a set , they can be carried separately. Final form of The chair
Volume: The volume of chair is 800 cubic inch and that of table is 928 cubic inch contributing a cubic foot wood
Chair Design The chair dimensions being 20x20x2 inches .There are five spaces in the base board to which the legs of the chair and the back rest rods are hinged . The legs open downward and the back rest is to be flipped upward.

The table dimensions are 32x29x1 inches. They follow the same mechanism that of the chair but instead of five they have four spaces
Various combinations in shades of yellow and green MARKET FOR THE PRODUCT: This product is designed for those people who travel places for different purposes like journalism, wildlife, photography , camping ,etc. The market potential for the above stated product is quite demanding and has more number of economical specifications such as cost, usage, accessibility, handy, etc. The less usage of space and material makes the design more user friendly and acts as an economical approach to the problem.
