Mr Akhilesh Srivastava Received Vishwakarma Award on 7th March The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) had undertaken many projects to modernise Indian highways and make National Highways commuter-friendly. From proposing the ideas behind wayside amenities to the integration of technology in the highway operations in India, Mr Srivastava contributions were crucial. His visionary ideas and innovative concepts like that of e-MB, e-Tendering, contribution in FASTag-Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system implementation on National Highways and Incident Management system transformed National Highways. Under these initiatives, the NHAI executed several projects such as
RAMS (Road Asset Management System)
Electronic Toll Collection (ETC)
Wayside Amenities (WSA)
Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS)
Use of drones for monitoring, maintenance and tracking the progress of construction activities. Mr Srivastava has been proactively working on the highway operations and management across the country to ensure an overall growth and development. By incorporating high-end monitoring systems and top-notch IT systems, he increased the pace of growth and construction of National Highways. During his tenure, adoption of global best practices have seen a surge and has led to a robust commuter-centric system that satisfied the commuter. The CIDC, an apex body established by the Planning Commission, the Union government, and the construction industry, awards individuals and organisations whose achievements are revolutionising and setting the benchmark for their respective domains in the roads and construction industries. The Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) has conferred the Vishwakarma Award for efficient Public Officer to Akhilesh Srivastava, Chief General Manager (IT & Highway Operations), National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for his contributions to the construction industry. Mr Akhilesh Srivastava received this prestigious award on 7th March 2018 in Stern Auditorium, India Habitat Centre (New Delhi) at the 10th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards event. Mr Srivastava is selected in the category of Achievement Award for Public Officer (CODE - C). He has time and time proved to ensure that the projects that he took overstood out amidst the lot. Apart from this coveted achievement, Mr Srivastava is also going to attend the prestigious event
of the 4th Annual Roads and Highways Summit which is set to be hosted in the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore from 9th-11th April 2018. He will be delivering speeches on the first day of the event addressing the topics of OBOR (One Belt, One Road) and Highway Modernisation for sustainability.
