Digi DocTimes - A New Start - Up in the Incubation Centre of NEC

The incubation centre, Start-up NEC, at Narasaraopeta Engineering College is designed to nurture new and small businesses, business development processes, and infrastructure for initial startups. The incubation centre helps young entrepreneurs to thrive and grow through the difficult and vulnerable early stages of their venture’s development. According to Mr. Mittapalli Chakravarthi, Director of Narasaraopeta Engineering College, Startup NEC is an incubation centre for students who aspire to become entrepreneurs and technocrats. The incubation centre serves as a launch pad for young entrepreneurial ventures. Startups, which are turbulent entities, need initial support to grow, and the college’s Start-up NEC is a means of providing that support. The aim of the Narasaraopeta Engineering College start-up incubation centre is to increase the chances of success of start ups and reduce the time taken to establish, by providing those startups with adequate financial support and resources for establishing and growing their businesses. The Start-up NEC “incubates” the innovative ideas of students, and incubates around six new startups in the first year itself before launching them in 8 months. Digi Doc is one of the start-ups that have emerged from the Narasaraopeta Engineering College’s incubation centre. The start-up is digitalizing medical facilities through innovative means. The start-up phase is a crucial period in any entrepreneur’s journey, and Narasaraopeta Engineering College, the autonomous institution based in the district of Guntur, AP, is providing the support the young entrepreneurs need to grow and expand their companies. DigiDoc Times digitalises the process of booking appointments with doctors. Their goal is to provide hassle-free healthcare services to rural people by getting the appointments of doctors online. This saves the customer’s time and money. It reduces also the chore of going to the clinic and get an appointment. Kamineni Srinivasa Rao, Health Minister of Andhra Pradesh, in a recent event appreciated the efforts taken by the Narasaraopeta Engineering College and its incubation centre, Start-up NEC.

Taking DigiDocTimes as a prime example of entrepreneurs taking social responsibility towards rural areas and innovating for a cause, he praised Narasaraopeta Engineering College for helping and motivating student entrepreneurs in such endeavours. He expressed hope that the institute would someday emerge as the best autonomous engineering college in the district and in the State.
