area is on Mäntymäentie (the road between Töölö Sports Hall and the Olympic Stadium). The finish area is at Telia 5G Areena football stadium and this year the whole team can cross the finish line together. The starting time for the first runner of the Relay team (runner A) is 3 PM (15:00). The maximum running time for the team is 6 hours.

Equipment storage & Storage for valuables The equipment storage area is located behind the Telia 5G Areena at Bollis 6 (football field). Runners can leave their equipment to the storage in large gear bag which is delivered at packet pick-up when you receive your race bib number. All items left to the equipment storage should fit into the bag (50 x 55 cm). Small valuables that fit a A4 envelope (phone, money, watch etc.) can be left to the storage for valuables during the race. There is no additional equipment storage at the transition areas. The equipment are moved to the transition areas and from them by the team members. Practical tip: you can deliver the previous runners equipment to the transition area in the race bag and they can take yours with them as they finish their run.

1

The transition areas and transportation

The transition areas are clearly marked on the route. The following runner will wait in the side of the route on the transition area for their turn. The transition is made by passing the relay baton from one runner to another. The runners must change the relay baton provided by the organizer in the transitions. The running distances are approximately 15, 8, 7 and 12 kilometers. The transition areas are located in Merisatamanranta (Kaivopuisto) at 15 km, Karamzininranta at 23 km and Pikkuniemi at 30 km. The transition areas are located in places that are relatively easy to reach by public transport. There is no transportation arranged to the transition areas. The runners will get to the transition areas by public transportation. From https://reittiopas.hsl.fi/ you find easily

the realtime public transport of Helsinki and also from the picture below (Helsinki City Marathon Relay directions for public transportation). Helsinki public transport ticket is included in the entry fee and you will get the tickets when picking up the race numbers. We recommend all relay runners to leave in time for the transition areas as the transportation may take some time.

1

Prizes

Each runner of a team finishing the race within the maximum time receives a Helsinki City Running Day finisher

medal. With the medal you can get a free entry to the Helsinki City Running Day after party at Apollo Live Club (age limit 20 years). The three best teams will be awarded with special prizes. A prize ceremony will be held at the stadium after the race.
