RE:

Highest Commendation

Mrs. Chin: The lofty reputation enjoyed by the programme under your stewardship was validated by my recent site visit to your establishment on your fifth anniversary. The program Help Jamaica has had immense success not only in the immediate environ but beyond. The community benefits together with other adjoining inner-city communities, like Mannings Hill, Big Yard, Whitehall and as far as Lawrence Tavern and Mount Ogle. Your programme offerings give to your beneficiaries a second chance in life. These include: adult CXC classes and Homework classes for children 6-16; Computer Classes for adults on a daily basis/Skills training and assistance to all residents for coping and guidance/job referrals, and Reading for non-readers – Adult classes. Under your leadership, the center has improved over the past two and half years. Your community based and non- profit training allows you to be in the successful position of gaining registration and other recognition for the organization. Organizations such as my own look to yours as a centre of excellence that we can benchmark and learn from. Heartiest congratulations for a job well done. To The HELP Jamaica! Organization

As a resident of Cassava Piece and a student at The University of the West Indies, I wish to endorse The work of HELP Jamaica Education Center at 5, Cassava Piece Road, Kingston 8 and which is located in my community.

The reason for my volunteering at the center, assisting both children and adults, is because of the results I have witnessed over the past year. The children are better behaved and no longer wander the streets. They are now engaged in educational activity. I also congratulate the parents who make it their duty to send their children to the center to take part in the center’s activities. The HELP Jamaica! programmes really help the children to read, to be ahead in their classes with their class work and to allow them to interact socially with their peers.

Attending adults are eager to learn and to acquire passes in the CSEC examinations in subjects like Math, English and Social Studies.

The need for community folk to acquire computer skills is also a plus at the center.

I am proud of the work the Center is offering in the community and I congratulate the Management on the work they have embarked on to make my community a better place.

I am a true Volunteer at the center and look forward to greater results at the HELP Jamaica Education Center in my community.
