Visiting Charlton House There's plenty to see at Charlton House, whether you're coming as an individual, with friends, as a family or as part of a school group.

Charlton Tea Room

Open daily from 9am to 4pm and located in the original Minstrels Hall, our wonderful wood panelled tea room offers the perfect setting to catch up over lunch or coffee. During the warm weather you can enjoy your lunch outside overlooking the grounds and gardens, and we serve a delicious selection of hot meals, sandwiches, cakes and bakes, as well as hot and cold beverages. We also host afternoon and cream teas for small and large groups (terms apply).

Historic Rooms & Shop

Learn about the long and eventful history of Charlton House by picking up 'a brief history of Charlton House' and a day map and then take a walk around our historic rooms, all featuring beautiful ornate and original Jacobean features. If you'd like to take away a souvenir then check out our range of gifts available to purchase in the tea rooms.

Families & Young People

Wednesday 10th & 17th April: 10am - 1pm Holiday Histories Spring Special

Join us at Charlton House & Gardens, with fun Lady Bug Paper Crafts on Wednesday 10th April and Insect Peg Pals on the 17th, enjoy a morning of playful activities that will excite and inspire your little one's creativity!

ÂŁ1.50 per child Drop in, children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Adult Learning We offer tours and classes for adults throughout the year, plus special talks, walks and workshops.

Guided Tours of Charlton House

Learn about one of the best surviving examples of Jacobean architecture in the UK, those who called it home, and how it has been used over its 400 year history. Tours last approximately 45 minutes and cost £5 per person or £55 per group (maximum group size is 25). For bookings and further information, please email info@rght.org.uk.

Community Events

Monday 15th April: 7.30pm Members Spring Flower Display

Informal in style, showcasing the flowers our members are most proud of. Including the pippit daffodil competition results.

Iain started working in Horticulture at Windsor Castle, then became a Planteria Manager for various garden centres. He is a speaker for Horticultural charity Perennial and is now general manager at Classiflora Imports.

THE CHARLTON SOCIETY

The Charlton Society holds talks on matters of local interest, normally on the third Saturday of every month, at Charlton House from 2.30pm.

Museum Collections & Archive Greenwich Heritage Centre closed in July 2018, and Royal Greenwich Heritage Trust (RGHT) are in the process of moving the museum collections and archive of the Royal Borough to a new store. As this move will take time to deliver, the Trust plans to continue its public programme and research enquiry service. More details and news of which will be coming soon, watch this space! Parking at Charlton House

Pay and display parking is applicable: - £1 per hour between 8am and 5pm - 50p per hour between 5pm and 10pm - The entrance barrier will be down and locked between the the times of 9pm and 8am - Receive a 10% discount on any purchases in Charlton Tea Rooms when presenting the voucher portion of your ticket - Blue badge holders can park for free in designated disabled bays when displaying a blue badge.
