Recently relocated to Liverpool (2011) to develop my English and implement my knowledge of marketing, events and public relations, on placement with Liverpool BID Company Business Improvement District of City Central and the Commercial BID, supporting many award campaigns, events, promotions and organising relevant competitions to drive footfall to businesses. The city’s Commercial District BID has hosted a book exchange on St George’s Day in which people receive a red rose – a tradition of ‘’St Jordi’’ who is also the patron saint of Catalonia.

The rose for book exchange has taken place on Derby Square and Castle Street on Tuesday, 23 rd April from 11am to 2pm.

-

Liverpudlians were encouraged to take a leaf out of Barcelona’s books as part of the city’s new literary festival, “In Other Words”.

The first 200 people received a free red rose courtesy of Fishlocks Florist , returning to their offices and homes with a book and a rose, just like the Catalan tradition

Over £210 was raised on the day and over 400 books donated to both Scope and The Reader Organisation.

Liverpool has staged its first ever St George’s Day Festival on Sunday, April 21.

-

The focus of the festival, organized to promote the city’s historic St George’s Quarter, was around St George’s Hall and St John’s Gardens which also hosted a fun fair and various themed stalls including a hog-roast.

The new website promoted the quarter and further events are being planned to promote it’s offer.

-

The free event included a fancy dress competition, fun fair, arts and crafts stalls, Special dragon-inspired Superlambananas and Mike the Knight.

Live music from acts including the community choir of the Royal Court Theatre and dancing took place at the bandstand in Williamson Square.

The medieval-themed fancy dress saw prizes awarded to the best knights, dragons and princesses

City Central BID is one of the partners for “Christmas by Liverpool” Campaign.

The national campaign included advertising in regional press, adverts on regional stations and national digital advertising.

There was also large-scale 48-sheet poster sites on the London Underground, the Lime Street Media Wall and VisitLiverpool's e-comms and social media channels.

Christmas By Liverpool also had its own bespoke microsite - www.christmasbyliverpool.com - to help keep shoppers fully up-to-date with the destination’s festive activity

It was designed to attract Christmas shoppers and city breakers to the destination, while they experience the city’s strong cultural offer at the same time.

The collateral includes details of all the festive attractions and events taking place across the city. There were also competitions, gift-guide, etc.

The campaign was part of an investment project, co-ordinated by the national tourist board, VisitEngland, called Growing Tourism Locally.

Bold street Festival is an event celebrated every year in the most famous street in Liverpool: Bold Street.

This year, the Bold Street Festival celebrated its fifth year

-

The all day Free event, which boasted two stages along Bold Street, was taking place from 12pm to 6pm and was set to be more vibrant and interactive than ever before

This year has seen the festival grow taking on its first headline sponsor in Merseytravel.

Live entertainment, music and comedy could be found up and down the street, with food stalls supplied by local businesses

The festival is "a great community celebration. It’s getting better each year as more and more businesses come on board. It’s really important to drive footfall, to increase visitors and for tourists.

Summer of Love 2012 to feature dozens of free, live cultural and sporting events in retail heart of city centre.

-

In the campaign, devised by City Central BID in response to the ÂŁ20m upgrade and closure of Central Station, more than 20 businesses signed up to provide special offers during a jam-packed programme of free live cultural and sporting events in the retail heart of the city centre.

-

The Campaign was supported by Merseyrail, Merseytravel, Network Rail and Liverpool city council.

-

Highlights of the programme included the Summer of Love Bandstand in Williamson Square and a Grandstand in Clayton Square for people to watch the Olympics on the Big Screen.

-

Other highlights included the Queen Square Diamond Jubilee Live Art Competition, the Carnival weekender featuring Brouhaha and Brazilica, a Ping Pong table festival, Streetwise Soccer and a touring piano at Central Station as part of Liverpool One’s Tickle the Ivories project.

-

The Summer of Love was also being promoted with a huge on-line marketing campaign via Radio City, Juice FM, One Card, Visit Liverpool and Echo Arena Liverpool and City Central BID also commissioned city centre flags and a groundbreaking advert inside Moorfields Station to raise awareness.

To whom it may concern Elena has been working with the City Central BID team on a voluntary basis since August 2012. 1st March 2013 Dear whomever it may concern, Elena worked for us from August 2011 to March 2013 as an au pair and managing the home. She adapted incredibly well to life in England and embraced all opportunities to learn and develop during her time. The manner in which she integrated herself into our family was incredible and she truly became a member of the ‘Simms family!’ Elena has cared for and developed our children far above our expectations and has been successful in teaching both children Spanish and our 3 year old is fluent! Elena is very trustworthy and dependable, and has had no absence at all during her time with us. Being dependable and acting in a professional manner is very important to us as one of our children needs regular medication throughout the day at very specific intervals, which Elena has dealt with and maintained exceptionally well. Her patient nature has enabled her to deal with all situations calmly and overcome issues that have arisen with the children and get the desired outcome in the best possible way. In addition to this Elena is creative and fun and is always keen to ensure she provides great experiences for the children and facilitates learning. She plans days out and activities to engage and develop the children, never taking the easy option. When needed she has responded well to the children’s feelings and ‘moods’ adapting plans accordingly to work to their needs. She also has great networking skills and quickly became independent and established in the Liverpool community and has created a life for herself and created more opportunities to work and learn more about the language, business and the city. To whom it may concern, She has been working with us as a volunteer since August. During this time she has worked and collaborated very hard in most of the events we have hosted: Summer of Love, Christmas by Liverpool, the Annual Review... She has contributed in the day by day work in the office supporting the whole team either delivering Scene, doing business survey for the Bold Street Festival, helping Mike and I to do our weekly newsletter, updating the website, managing Facebook/Twitter, designing artwork for our promotions or assisting Tracey, Karen and Jenny on their events. She has proven she is a very positive, creative and proactive person who match in our very dinamic and close team.
