Book Description From Janet Evanovich, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Stephanie Plum novels, and Lee Goldberg, bestselling author and television writer for Monk, comes the first adventure in an electrifying new series featuring an FBI agent who always gets her man, and a fearless con artist who lives for the chase.
FBI Special Agent Kate O’Hare is known for her fierce dedication and discipline on the job, chasing down the world’s most wanted criminals and putting them behind bars. Her boss thinks she is tenacious and ambitious; her friends think she is tough, stubborn, and maybe even a bit obsessed. And while Kate has made quite a name for herself for the past five years the only name she’s cared about is Nicolas Fox—an international crook she wants in more ways than one.
Audacious, handsome, and dangerously charming, Nicolas Fox is a natural con man, notorious for running elaborate scams on very high-profile people. At first he did it for the money. Now he does it for the thrill. He knows that the FBI has been hot on his trail—particularly Kate O’Hare, who has been watching his every move. For Nick, there’s no greater rush than being pursued by a beautiful woman . . . even one who aims to lock him up. But just when it seems
that Nicolas Fox has been captured for good, he pulls off his greatest con of all: He convinces the FBI to offer him a job, working side by side with Special Agent Kate O’Hare.
Problem is, teaming up to stop a corrupt investment banker who’s hiding on a private island in Indonesia is going to test O’Hare’s patience and Fox’s skill. Not to mention the skills of their ragtag team made up of flamboyant actors, wanted wheelmen, and Kate’s dad. High-speed chases, pirates, and Toblerone bars are all in a day’s work . . . if O’Hare and Fox don’t kill each other first.

Reviews FBI agent Kate O'Hare is the woman every woman would like to be; smart, independent, able to stay incredibly, effortlessly sexy and physically toned in spite of eating Oreo cookies and meatballs she picked off of her Kevlar vest,
while she cooly makes a call for backup. Nick Fox, aptly named, is the ultimate sexy bad boy. This book picks up where the introductory teaser-short Pros and Cons, by the same authors, lets off. I held out hope for this book to be better than the teaser, and it is. I also have to say that the book was a refreshing change from the Stephanie Plum series. (which I stopped reading about six books ago, about two books after i felt it should have ended) It is nice to see some of the original Evanovich verve has returned with new characters since the once-fun Stephanie series..
This book is a collaboration between Monk author Lee Goldberg and Janet Evanovich. It turns out to be a lighthearted bit-of-the-same from these authors. I got exactly what I had expected from them. It reads like a TV cop show (hmmm, go figure). There was nothing about the writing that overly impressed me. There were no big ah-ha moments. I won't give any spoilers about the relationship, but suffice it to say that it is pretty predictable...but predictable in a kind of fun and comforting way. There were plenty of clever moments that made me smile a little. A couple of them made me laugh out loud.
I listened to this book on audible. Scott Brick did a very good job narrating. I was expecting a woman's voice to do the job, but it didn't matter and he did fine. The story was fun and interesting enough to keep me awake and alert on my wee-hours-of-the-morning road trip. With a sad family event to attend later today, I was grateful for the nearly complete distraction this audiobook offered. Nothing too serious, just light and fun
If you're an Evanovich fan, or a fan of the Monk series, this book shouldn't disappoint. However, if you're tastes lean more toward fine literature and tales with deeper meaning, give this a pass. I enjoy both at different times. This book was definitely fun.
