Hong Kong Museum of Food Interior Design- Revitalization of Local Food Culture

To achieve the purpose of arousing the consciousness of preservation and inheritance, with an educational intention, this project aims at sustaining the local characteristics and lifestyle of Hong Kong people with local culture. During the process of urban renewal, old buildings are replaced by new commercial buildings. The main necessity of life- Diet has now become commercialized. The demolition of which for re-development began and accelerated the decline of local restaurants. Traditional local food culture eventually being destroyed. This project has the potential of recapture and interpretation of the unique local food industry, through an innovative and new design, in order to create a touchable and corporeal space to users.

Hong Kong has a rapid decline in the number of Dai Pai Dongs. The food stalls is modernized into a new style, with new materials and preservation of traditional atmosphere.
