At least once a year, “joint mixers” are also held in collaboration with other local chambers. On a smaller scale, Leads Groups offer members the chance to give and receive business referrals. The Chamber’s four Leads Groups meet weekly. A highlight of most months is the Membership Luncheon, which features a notable guest speaker discussing a topic that is educational and informative. Two of these meetings have become staples: The HEB ISD superintendent delivers The State of the District, and the State of the Cities Luncheon features reports from the city managers of all three cities. Annually, we recognize our outstanding members at the Awards Luncheon. In June, hundreds of members gather to showcase their products and services at our EXPO, and our Birthday Bash in September raises funds for Chamber programs. Still more opportunities for networking and business promotion occur at our annual Golf Tournament and at “Stan the Chamber Man’s Chili Challenge.” Ribbon-cutting ceremonies are held throughout

the year, helping new members introduce their business or organization to the community. Our Ambassadors, meanwhile, pitch in by checking to make sure members feel welcomed, engaged and supported. To keep members informed about everything the Chamber and our members are doing, we produce a variety of communications, including several monthly e-newsletters, social media posts, an annual report and an annual business directory and community guide that is offered in both print and interactive digital formats. If you’re concerned that your organization is too small (or too big) for the Chamber, consider this: About 70 percent of our members have fewer than ten employees, while a little over 10 percent have more than fifty. In short, we have something to offer businesses and organizations of every size. Last, but far from least, the HEB Chamber is 4-Star accredited by the United States Chamber of Commerce. Accreditation is given in recognition of organizational excellence and not easily achieved: In fact, the HEB Chamber now ranks in the top three percent of chambers in the country. The HEB Chamber has changed significantly since its inception, greatly expanding both its membership and services. But for all we have accomplished, there is still much more to do, and we will continue collaborating with others to advance business and strengthen the community. We are committed to ensuring that these words are not just our mission – they’re also the outcome. To learn more, please call 817-283-1521 or visit heb.org.
