WELCOME

LETTER FROM THE 2021 CHAIRMAN 2021 proved to be an interesting year! Our kids were back in school and many of the local companies returned to the office, while others continued to work from home or with a hybrid schedule. Life was getting back to normal!

Change. Many believe change is something to be feared and instead of embracing new challenges, they shrink from it. As change happened during this past year, your HEB Chamber of Commerce charged ahead, proving their importance, value, and relevance in the community as they have for the past 66 years. Life kept going. Not only able was the Chamber still able to bring our members together at major events like the Annual Golf Classic Tournament, Business EXPO & Job Fair, HEB’s Got Talent Anniversary Event, & Stan the Chamber Man’s Chili Challenge, but we continued strengthen & GROW our weekly Networking Groups and the women’s WILD Luncheons! Our members were ready to move forward. It was also during this time that our Board of Directors rebranded the strategic plan and goals of the Chamber to carry us through for the next 5 years. These goals bring a more forward approach to the programs and events that are offered. Starting in 2022, our Chamber goals are Awareness, Excellence, Growth, Success, and Voice! The highest accomplishment in 2021 was when YOUR HEB Chamber was awarded the coveted 5-STAR ACCREDITATION from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce - a feat that less than 1% of all U.S. Chambers have earned! The requirements are rigorous, and it is not easy to achieve, but with the perseverance of President & CEO Mary Frazior and and her staff, this was able to be successfully accomplished! While my year serving as Chairman is over, I’m excited to see what 2022 holds for 2022 Chairman Jeri Harwell as she takes the Chamber even further! Wonderful things are happening and I hope you’ll continue to stay for the journey. It’s been my sincere thanks for the honor of serving our community through the HEB Chamber of Commerce in 2021. Your 2021 Chairman of the Board,

Susan Shaw
