Interior design and architecture have been my passions since I was a child. The Christmas my parents bought me a drafting table and T-square was perhaps one of the most memorable events of my childhood. I’ve been so fortunate to turn my two passions—design and writing—into a career I love. Putting together this inaugural issue of DLM home+design has been a tremendous joy for me. I feel so fortunate to work with an incredible crew that values this magazine and high-quality content as much as I do. The architects and interior designers whose work is featured in these pages are incredibly talented professionals. The luxury homes we’ve featured show some of the best of Colorado living, like Mountain Manor (page 46), an exquisite home near Aspen designed specifically for entertaining large crowds. Also, you’ll find a contemporary pool house (page 68) that’s floor-to-ceiling glass but offers the utmost privacy and a farmhouse in the heart of Steamboat Springs (page 56) that will have you longing for simpler times. Design experts offer advice on everything from wall treatments (“Wall Works,” page 22) to layered
