Welcome to Paulson Cross Country Ski Trails

The Castlegar Nordic Ski Club maintains approx. 50kms of trails in co-operation with Recreation Sites and Trails BC and BC Timber Sales (BCTS) division of the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resources. The club also maintains day use shelters and provides track setting. Memberships and day use fees collected at the trailhead are very important, as they provide the required funds to maintain a high standard of set tracks for your enjoyment.

Black Jack has 40kms of world-class trails that are expertly groomed for both skate and classic and include a lit loop, trailside warming cabins, and a dog friendly trail. Equipment rentals are available at the trailhead kiosk which is located only 5 minutes from downtown Rossland, BC. Self Pay system at the kiosk mailbox when no attendant is on duty. Trail fees apply 24 hours a day.

Nordic Skier's Responsibility Code

Be aware-ski with care Skiers going downhill on the trail have the right-ofway ● When stopped, move off the trail so that other skiers will not have to detour around you ● Keep to the right when approaching oncoming skiers ● Be courteous when passing, and use common sense. Approach slowly and from a distance say either, "Track please" or "Passing on your left" ● Lend assistance when needed ● No dogs allowed at Black Jack or Paulson Ski Area Facilities

FORR Recreation Site Management Plan is being prepared by the community. Undeveloped, natural terrain easily accessed off Hwy 3B. Individual self-propelled activities including skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, and biking. Some formal trails, but most access is on logging roads, through clear-cut areas and within timber stands. Some day use shelters open to the public (DAY use only). Parking along Hwy 3B at sites noted. www.rosslandrange.org
