or the second year in a row, one of Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center's interventional cardiologists, Dr. Thomas M. Shimshak, was chosen to be one of only fifteen specialist worldwide to demonstrate his techniques for the relief of vascular blockage during a live satellite transmission to the Complex Cardiovascular Catheter Therapeutics, Advanced Endovascular and Coronary Intervention Global Summit (C3) at the Hilton Bonnet Creek in Orlando. On June 29, Dr. Shimshak and the cath lab teams at Florida Hospital's Heart and Vascular Center performed two complex, non-surgical catheter-based procedures that were broadcast to over 1200 medical professionals attending the 12th annual C3 Summit. The two male patients, ages 74 and 60, had pain and difficulty walking because of long segments of complete, chronic blockages in their legs. „
