Located on the grounds of The Ringling stands a mansion built as home of John and Mabel Ringling. Inspired by the Venetian Gothic style of the palazzi in Venice, Italy and designed by noted New York architect Dwight James Baum, the 36,000 sq. ft. mansion is a popular home to explore. Construction began in 1924 and was completed 2 years later. The mansion proudly stands at 5 stories tall and features 41 rooms and 15 bathrooms. Ca’ d’Zan or “House of John” is a must visit to every Sarasota traveler. Local tip: For additional fees, guided tours are available of the home to explore and experience entire floors and private rooms not open to standard admission holders.„
