Message from the editor Hello dear friends We are relived to finish our job.We have accepted that it was really difficult but enjoyable work. Thanks for your nice writings. We all spend lots of time to prepare properly for the third issue. We hope all readers are satisfied with the newspaper.We try to do our best to attract all readers’interests. We had a wonderful week in Italy.We were so excited as it was the first time to go abroad. We hesitated about something but everything was just a dream.There was no problem with the flight or the family we stayed. The girls were so sweet and friendly.The mother and the father were nice and kind. They showed all their hospitality to make us pleased. Thanks to them.

We went to workshop with our teachers and Italian students. The teachers there,showed us making a rose. It was so creative. We made roses with different colours. We still have these roses in our house. We saved them as a souvenir from the workshop in Parma. It was very good because we had chance to work with both teachers and the family. We were altogether.We were so happy.

Macaroni or pasta is the famous food in Parma.I think they call it as pasta.We had pasta festival in the school.We ate 4 or 5 kinds of pasta. It was delicious.I liked pastas very much.

The secondary students prepared a show for us. They made high school musical.Their turning turtle was so effective. The others students sang songs and they made drama. We could’t understand every words but it was worth to clap. We advise you to go to Parma and experience all these excellent things.

Breakfast is an important meal for our body and of course varies from one country to another, according to families' habits.

Generally, all children have bread or toast with jam and butter, chocolate and sometimes ham or cheese. Children from Germany, England and Italy also like cereals or muesli with milk. Sausages and eggs is a common breakfast everywhere but in Italy, where tea and biscuits is a favourite one. Children from Germany usually have fresh fruit along with juices. As for drinks: tea, milk and hot chocolate for everyone.

Children have little time for breakfast in school days; on holiday and in the weekend families enjoy a richer breakfast in Germany, cakes or pies in Turkey and Italy: children from Parma will have panettone or pandoro in Christmas time. Year3

Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day, because our body needs the energy to concentrate in school or jobs.

When we have school there isn´t a lot of time for breakfast. So we normally eat - a slice of bread (white bread or whole-meal bread) with butter and something like marmelade, chocolate-cream, cheese or ham. - Muesli or cornflakes with milk and - Yoghurt. - We drink tea or hot chocolate. During the morning in school we often eat - a slice of bread with butter and ham or cheese - some fruits like an apple or in these days a mandarine. We drink water or limonade.

We have asked 20 students about their breakfasts whether they have a special breakfast on holidays or not. Of course all answers are different but they are actually same except one or two items. I tried to make a common breakfast by evaluating all the breakfasts. They have limited time on mornings in the week days because of the school. That’s why they eat same things.In our culture cheese,bread and olives are so important for the breakfast.

They sometimes eat cake and pie on special days. Sunday breakfast is special in Turkey as all family members are at the table for the breakfast. The mothers make cakes and pies for these days.

OUR TABLE TENNIS TEAM Hello! We are students at table tennis team in Kuvayi Milliye Primary School. I am, Mustafa SARIKAYA.

I am Süleyman Kamil KAYA. We get prepared for the matches with the help of our teacher.We learned all the rules. We usually train after school time and at the breaks.

I am Halit DİŞÇİ. We should sleep early and have a good rest before the match.We should eat energizer food 3 hours before.

.

We meet altogether an hour before the match. The teacher try to relieve us mentally. We train about the positions,hits etc. We make a plan about the play.

Our teacher advise us to calm down during the match. Of course we know that being winner is important however we accept it is just a play. Also we are sure that care has a big role during the match.

We don’t think about other things.We focus on the match and we help each other motivate for the match.

Congratulations! I like your play very much. You are a good player.

We know that this is just a play. Win or lose…It doesn’t matter. Don’t be nervous but do your best.

We talk about our mistakes,positions,hits with the teacher after the match. We try not to do the same mistakes for the next match.

Bacillus are carried from one person to another by touching stair-rails, money or other things. We made a test: We have pressed our unwashed fingers in nutrient medium for bacillus and we did the same after we had washed our hands carefully. After 24 hour we looked what had happened to our mediums. We saw that there were many bacillus where we had pressed our unwashed fingers

but we saw nothing where we had pressed our fingers after washing carefully. Unwashed / washed

Because of this you have to wash your hands carefully with warm water and soap especially ….  before eating something.  after visiting the toilet.  when you come home.  after blowing one´s nose.  after playing with animals.  when your hands are dirty.

We have prepared and enjoyed Smoothies two times. First time we tried five recipes e.g. the Mango smoothie, the traffic light smoothie etc. The 3-Fruit-Smoothie was our favourite smoothie. Today we have tried three recipes. One from Turkey, from Italy and from England. They are all very good but our favourite recipe is Kamile’s recipe from Turkey. Here are the recipes:

Three-Fruit- Smoothie You need: 500 ml orange juice (we used fresh one) 1 banana 1 pear. 1.Put the orange juice in a big bowl. 2. Wash the pear and cut it into pieces. 3. Cut the banana into pieces. 4. Put the banana and pear pieces and the orange juice into a blender. 5. Blend until smooth. 6. Put it into glasses and decorate it. Kamile’s Smoothie You need: a pineapple a pear Tangerines (Mandarine) Cherries Put the pineapple and pear into the blender, blend it and than add the mandarins and cherries. To decorate put some coconut on it.
