WALSALL CLINICAL COMMISSIONING GROUP Walsall Clinical Commissioning Group is a new and exciting NHS organisation made up of Doctors, Nurses, Managers and Lay Advisors. As a group, we will use our knowledge of local health needs to make sure that public money is spent wisely on purchasing and planning safe, high quality health services for you, the patients. Walsall CCG is responsible for managing some £346 million of your money, and we have to ensure that every penny is spent wisely and effectively to deliver the safest, highest quality healthcare possible for the people of Walsall. We will use the money to commission care from a wide range of providers, including Walsall Hospitals NHS Trust, Dudley and Walsall Mental Health Partnership and the Black Country Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. We will be responsible for making sure that these organisations, and anyone else providing healthcare services for local people, keep their patients safe and deliver a high standard of care. As clinical leaders we are committed to working in partnership with patients, the public, healthcare providers and other commissioners to achieve health and wellbeing improvements for the people of Walsall.

Getting Involved with the CCG Patient Representative Group (PRG) - Chairs training and development programme. In order for patients to have a strong and effective voice in Walsall the CCG has invested in providing a supportive training programme for Chairs of our PRGS. Over half of our GP Practices have a patient representative groups and this provides not only a vital voice but also a feedback mechanism in the way that the services that we commission are being delivered to our communities. Walsall CCG wish to strengthen this key community asset through this free training programme to further enable our PRG Chairs and Vice Chairs to meet the new ways of working. The Patient Reference Group (PRG) Chairs training programme has been going in Walsall since November 2012. There have been 3 programmes so far and each programme covers six sessions.
