To date, VET policy has been driven by advice from commentators using a flawed evidence base. None have grasped the scale of need for educationist input, nor understood the full effects of not doing that. The current VET policies assume that an evidence-base was established before implementation but that is not the case. The current VET policies are based on flawed assumptions made at the beginning. The only way to retrieve what is left of an ailing and abused System is to seek good evidence, rather than political and corporate/business spin doctoring and individuals' subjective opinions who have a clear conflict of interest - such as making a profit from public funds. This paper provides an alternative approach based on evidence.
