Heyfield Happenings

If you have any items of interest, birthday, anniversary or special occasion of any kind please ring 5148 2821, email mbeha@bigpond.net.au or drop by 11 Mary St, Heyfield. Thank you to all the people who are ringing with news.

Last month the Sellings family took off to the Gold Coast to enjoy a break and catch up with their Queensland relations. A beautiful house on the canal in Broadbeach Waters was our home away from home for 8 nights. Much to our amazement the house was owned by a distant relation of Emily's family, small world. The young ones were keen to hit the theme parks, and set about which ones to visit first, whilst Granma and Pa settled in for baby sitting duties. The Casino also got a flying visit by a few of the more adventurous and managed to bring home some coins.Well done Josh. Wet n Wild was the most popular park closely followed by Movie World, unfortunately the weather foiled our attempt to visit Sea World, maybe next time. 4 month old Mac took this adventure in his stride, sleeping on take off and landing on both flights, and taking to the pool at our house like a veteran. Mac also got to meet Superman and was impressed with all that was on offer. A great time was had by all and plans are underway for our next family trip!

Heyfield News—2018

Thanks to all the families that took park in the first Pedal to Parks bike ride the other weekend. We had around 50 children plus parents take part in the ride from Cowwarr to the Heyfield Wetlands along the Rail Trail. The kids enjoyed a free BBQ cooked by the Lions Club, plus a jumping castle and face painting. The children were sponsored to ride and raised $2800, plus with raffle tickets the total came close to $4000 for the Good Friday Appeal which was an amazing effort. The Resource Centre would like to extend a huge thanks to the volunteers who made the day such a success and to the Wellington Shire Council for supporting the event. Raffle prize winners were: Kathryn Hamilton, Pip Killeen and Hugie Stagg.
