Learn Local organisations offer a range of training programs designed to meet adult learning needs. HCRC is the registered Learn Local in our community that can help people return to study, improve reading, writing and maths skills, gain a qualification, get a job or learn something new. Get started with a pre-accredited program These programs are designed to help learners gain the confidence and skills needed to look for a job or go on to further study. They include courses in communication, job search skills, getting ready to go back to work and literacy and numeracy. To deliver pre-accredited training, an organisation must be registered with the Adult, Community and Further Education (ACFE) Board. The quality and structure of all pre-accredited programs is regularly reviewed by the ACFE Board.

A foot in the door getting started in tourism Want to get a start in the tourism industry, learn new skills and get some practical, work-based experience? This 4 week program will provide students with entry level skills for working in the tourism and customer service industries or undertaking further study in the area. • working in the tourism sector, including placements at local visitor centres • enhancing customers experience • develop the skills to work as a team and communicate effectively • how to promote tourism services and products • using social media and apps as marketing tools

Provide First Aid (Level 2) HTLAID003 Also known as Level 2 First Aid, this course is the certificate for the workplace and includes a CPR refresher in the morning session. The certificate is valid for 3 years with CPR needing to be refreshed annually. Emergency Response in Education and Care Setting (early childhood) HTLAID004 can be done as an extension for this course upon request. Friday 17th November, 9am to 4.30pm. $160 per person.
