Working With Mixed Ages - November 4th, 6:30 - 9:30pm - This workshop is designed to help caregivers identify and address the challenges of working with mixed age groups of children. Strategies for meeting and understanding the needs of all individuals in the group will be offered. (COK - 3CU) Note: This training is a requirement for all first year family providers. Helping Children Deal with Grief - November 11th, 6 - 9pm - This course is designed to help child care providers identify the grief process in children from infancy through adolescence and recognize the role that caregivers play in helping children to cope. Covers stages of grief, development behavior when faced with loss at different stages of childhood, and how to help. (COK - 3CO) Autism - Unlocking the Puzzle - November 13th, 13rd, 6-9pm - Autism is one of the most interesting conditions. We will break it down and try to understand why an individual approach to these children is best. You will come away with a broad knowledge base and appreciation for the uniqueness and challenges of autistic children (COK - 3SN) Working With Temperament - November 18th, 6:30-9:30pm - Right from the start, babies are different. Each has a unique style of showing feelings and of responding to the world. This workshop will enable providers to understand the temperament traits and styles of infants and toddlers, examine the influences of differences on relationships, and explore strategies to support the temperamental style of each child in care.
