Throughout my design I decided to inspire the architectural features f r o m J a m e s Tu r r e l l ’s work creating spatial experiences that alter the perspective of how the users perceive the space. Achieving the ganzfeld effect.

PROGRAM ( P S YC H O LO G I C A L | I N T E N S E SOFT)
The goal was to implement a residential and exhibit space into the Georgia Railroad Museum taking into consideration light artist, James Turrell’s needs and artwork. The spaces are divided into public and private and work with the existing site implementing the original parking lot in order to transform it into a direct main entry for the exhibit space as well as delineating a path for private circulation for Turrell’s residential area

VIGIL HOUSE | PTSD-BASED RESIDENCE SAVANNAH, GA
The design aims for the experience of control within the space as well as outside. The residence is mainly based on an open plan except for cetain spaces such as the services and the client’s bedroom as well as his children’s. Hence, placement of open and enclosed spaces are strategically put around so circulation is at its most comfortable to the client in a way that it could help reinforce the sensation of awareness. The vertical element of the project is the watch tower which serves as both a lift and a gazing space.

The “feeling” of a space is hard to take in from an elevation or plan. Polysemic means “many views.” From this principle, the next drawing portrays how the architecture in the residence embodies the different aspects that can mean something to the client and how this means something different in each person’s eyes.
INTERLOCK | ANIMAL SHELTER SAVANNAH, GA
Interlock animal shelter focuses on the ephemeral interaction among three elements: animals, people and community. The way this is done is through landscaping, integrating common interests for the visitors as well as the shelter’s, shaping it into one architectural juxtaposition. The purpose in the end is to delineate spaces without leaving any of the element’s interests behind. In this way, the cats and dogs that stop by the shelter are being integrated with the real world and provided with with quality stay experience through as much as architecture can offer.

The art gallery provides both an experience that implements the art as well as an experience that implements the architecture. Generating both interior and exterior moments that focus a lot on views and light through out the program.
| MERGE Planes and lines play along with each other forming intersections that allow for an abstraction in space that leads to endless possibilities of what the eyes want to see.
